Hello,
I've been on this board for a few years. I have axonal sensory neuropathy in both feet. My feet problem started when I was pregnant (at 40 ) with Mortons Neuroma's in both feet. Had surgery to remove them and they grew back. Had second surgery...six weeks later - full blown Neuropathy. I've been fairly stabe with Neutrontin, Baclofen and various vitamins. Now I started working out with a group of people at the gym (kind of like the biggest loser) and I have developed Plantar Fasciitis. God it hurts. Has anyone else also had PF in addition to PN? I'm icing my feet and took the weekend off. On friday I really over did it with a workout in the morning and then Disneyland (with Lidocaine patches) all day/night. I don't have this foot condition but at the start of my condition before I was dx and they had no clue what was going on they suggest orthotics that are made especially for you. I know my mom who does not have PN but does have foot problems but is a runner really finds hers so helpful. 17000 steps my god I give you credit. Do you take epsom salt baths? Some people find them helpful

When you start an exercise program, this can happen.
You over did the ligaments on the bottom of the foot. You need to go more slowly, and stretch carefully before. Try some soaking in epsom salts...that can help. Plantar fasicitis can be misdiagnosed. Any pain in the foot can seem like it at times. Did you have X-rays taken? Sesamoid bone issues, can feel like fasicitis. Elliptical machines are less impact, and easier for me and my feet than a treadmill. I also have cushioning in my shoes.

Yes, I get it once in a while. My podiatrist suggested doing the runner's stretch to help. Lean on a wall, stretch one leg back, then the other. Gently, 4-5 times. And be careful how you stretch when you wake up!

Both my adult daughters ended up having stress fractures....first they were told they had plantar fascitis and one was told it was a morton's neuroma too!

I have it in both feet, but the right one is worse than the left. I use a night splint during sleep, which is a challenge since some nights I wake up from my foot burning because its touching the splint and I have to take it off. Although, any time spent in it helps a lot. I also use the Pro Stretch daily. A good size ball that you can roll around in the arch of the foot helps to stretch out the area too. Think tennis ball size, and proper arch support, if you have arches. I recently went through PT for this and other foot problems. You really should see a doctor too make sure this is going on, if you haven't already. Take care!

I have tendonitis and PF in both feet or so they tell me.nerve test was good.I cant wear the splints for so much burning.Should I do it slowly to get use to it?

Lucyloo, I just wear it until my foot starts burning and then take it off. I wake up from the burning sensation and the only way to stop it is to remove the splint. Even then, my foot continues to burn, but it lets up enough so that I can try to go to sleep. Otherwise, I just get up. Any time in the splint is time well spent, at least for me.

I would think your foot would get hot in there! My feet burn when they get warm. They like it cooler.
I wonder if using something like Biofreeze before putting your foot in the brace would help? This compound, reduces inflammation and also is cooling for burning sensations. Biofreeze is a disappearing gel and will not stain the brace if you wait 10 or 15 minutes before putting your foot in it.
