Hi, I went to Dr. Dellon for help when I had tarsal tunnel syndrome which did show on the NCS after having it for 6 months, it takes that long to show up for some reason the docs told me. It's a compression problem with a nerve in the ankle and I had it in both ankles.

I ended up having surgery done on one ankle 1st, my left one. And it was done by a Dellon-trained surgeon from Hagerstown, MD, at my hospital in Frederick where he practiced. This was more convenient for me because he took my insurance (Dellon didn't) plus the hospital was closer to home and I wouldn't have to fight that Baltimore traffic for all the follow-up office visits. I lived near there at the time in 2001. No problems since.

Dr. Dellon has gone around the country and trained surgeons elsewhere so this might be an option for you too. I can say that my surgery was very successful, so much so that it actually cleared up the whole problem. Both nerves in both legs stopped burning and the doctor said it happens sometimes so I didn't have to have the other ankle's surgery done. I don't know what type of neuropathy you have a problem with. I looked at your profile but you don't have anything there. I have read on another website posts from a couple of other Dellon patients with mixed reviews. But he's still in business since you are asking about him....

When first at his office, I underwent testing that he had developed, which was very subjective. It was administered by a person and depended on my answers as to how much I could feel when poked and prodded on my feet, legs, etc. in slightly different ways. This one time I was supposed to tell the difference between feeling 1 pin or 2 and I could not feel 2 pins no matter how hard down she poked the special pin with the 2 heads. It was hurting me real bad but I didn't say anything about it, I didn't feel 2 pins. Later the results said I had no feeling in that area!! All that was said very fast with a lot more information about all other areas, etc. It wasn't until I was driving home that I realized why she thought I had no feeling there--I hadn't complained about pain or said anything, she thought I couldn't feel ! So be aware, I heard that this test was subjective. It actually didn't affect anything for me. I didn't see him for anything else.

Also, Dr. Dellon's person who sets up his appointments had arranged for me to be tested and to see him all on the same day, she had suggested it. I had said nothing about it except to accept and thank her. But when he 1st saw me, he was like "So who is this who thinks she's entitled to testing on the same day she sees me, etc., etc.", very very arrogant. I couldn't believe it. Be prepared, but it doesn't mean he's not a good Dr.
