It will be interesting to see how your other cats behave in Sheba's absence. They may each blossom in their own way since sheba was 'alpha'. It should be interesting to see.

My husband and I are childless, so our cats have always been a focal point in our lives. Our youngest, Riva, an orphan that found her way to our home when she was just six weeks old, attached herself to me. She looks for me and wants me to pick her up and hold her like a baby. Though, she does not seem to like my husband so much. Odd, the cats usually like him the most.

I am truly sorry for your loss and I hope that each day feels better... Love the dickens out of the other cats, they are probably confused.

Default Mrs D? Think of it this way...

Few are honored to be CHOSEN by a cat. Fewer still to be worshiped by their helpmate. She has lived a long and super life. Far better than most cats in this world, and treasure her memory... I'm sure you will hear 'whispers'? And I don't believe in ghosts per se. But, I hear, whispers and such still.
She IS in cat heaven! I sure wish I could go there too when my time comes! I believe you would beat me there and be held in higher esteem tho..
God bless you all - j

Red face

Animals and spirituality in the news today:

Well, dahlek, I do have an interesting comment about ESP and Sheba. Once when she was sleeping in between me and hubby, I woke up and after a while (my back was to her), I started thinking about her, saying her name inside my head. Next thing I knew she was going...merrrppppp? I tried that many times over the years, and it seemed to always illicit a response!

Kind of spooky. I hope she does not hold it against me then for taking her to the vet and putting her thru that last day? (tests and treatment for her constipation?). Maybe I should have put her down earlier...on? Lots of guilt, following me around today.

Sorry Dan, we sort of hijacked your thread!

I'm so sorrry to hear of your loss, mrsD. I hope that your good memories of her soon outweigh the grief you're feeling now.
