I really don't know....have you searched this?
Caffeine in excess constricts blood vessels...and for those with circulation issues, that would be a problem I would think.

Hi, well I can only say it didn't stop my nerve regeneration, don't know if it slowed it down though, I do drink a lot of coffee.

Without reading through all your posts. How did you get your nerves to regenerate?

I was very fortunate that the causes were found, prediabetes & low B12 levels, so I changed my diet to a low carb diet and done exercise, also took B12 supplements, took years to heal properly.

When ever you read about diets and pain or health problems they say to avoid caffiene. I thought for some reason it was thought to increase pain.

I love coffee , but I have cut down , just seems logical if your nerves are barking , you dont want caffine to fuel them

I saw something about raising cAMP (an intracellular chemical) can actually decrease a healing nerve's sensitivity to NOGO (a chemical that prevents nerves from healing in the spinal cord). Caffeine supposedly raises cAMP. While this is theoretical, it is plausible to think that caffeine could actually help certain types of neuropathy.
On the other side of the spectrum, it is a nervous stimulant, so it could potentially aggravate some symptoms as well. |

i stopped drinking coffee and tea for 15 months. I started again 2 weeks ago. I can't say if i can feel much difference re PN because my symptoms are always fluctuating, but it sure is great to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning again.
