Tongue

I take mine at night too.... it really helps. Tonight I am upset about our dear cat who has cancer... and it is a long story so I won't go into it. But I went for another opinion yesterday, and just going thru it all again, and keeping her calm, just drained me dry. The answers were hopeless and sad She has mast cell cancer, which is incurable in the abdomen. Another vet was pushing us to surgery next week, and this consult said no...he wouldn't do it for his own cat. Alot of pain and she will only get a month or two extension. (and the surgery is $5000!) Best to let her live normally as long as she can this way and put her to sleep. Estimate is 2 months more. She is still enjoying the fall weather and it breaks my heart really, this waiting. She is 13.

Tonight I am going to double up to 300mg of theanine. And see what happens.

Oh Mrs D I am heartbroken for you, it isn't fair you have been through so much with the cats. Take care

Wink

Theanine update... 300mg was very good!

I am going to continue at this higher dose. Didn't notice much effect on the footies yet... but my anxiety level seems less painful and I did sleep well, compared to the last 3 weeks, of this cat grief!
If I start getting the "heavy heart" as I call this grief pain, I'll take it during the day too! I've always been an anxiety neurotic, so I tend to tough out painful stress. Looks like theanine is working so far for me. My blood sugars have come down quite a bit since I started in early August. That bottle of 90 150mg is almost gone, so I will start the Swanson's. They don't offer high milligrams, and I may go back to the Doctor's Best I originally purchased from Amazon then.

Thanks, for the positive thoughts, Malawigirl.

I just did another search for Theanine.
this link is quite interesting and gives dosages:
http://web-us.com/l-theanine_anxiety_reducer.htm

I will be putting this up in the Subforum soon.
