I tried the Jarrow's Methyl B-12 1000mcg first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. It ripped my stomach apart! Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get my needed B-12 without killing my stomach? I would appreciate any and all suggestions! Thanks!

That is odd. I take Puritan's now, it is very different than Jarrow's and easy. Soft to chew and swallow and it is much smaller.
Jarrow has xylitol in it for a sweetener. Puritan's has mannitol. But the actual amount of it in a tablet is really tiny. Maybe you have a special problem with the inert ingredients?

Really B12 is not absorbed in the stomach, but in the intestine.
Do you drink water with it? 1mg is a tiny amount, about the size of a few grains of sugar. All the rest of the pill is filler.

I did drink water with it. Could it be interacting with my other meds? I take Clonazepam at 7am and took the B12 at 8am. Would it help to take the B12 before the Clonazepam?

Try the Puritan's. I switched to it and tested it out.
It is very reasonable when purchased during their sales. It is not so gritty like the Jarrow's. I can't see it interacting with the clonazepam. Do you eat sugar free mints with xylitol, or gum? Check your toothpaste too. Make sure you rinse well after you brush your teeth. Hubby started having diarrhea from sugarless gum. We think it is the Xylitol.
