Default Claw hand... can it be reversed?

Due to alcohol consumption over the years I have developed ulnar neuropathy and as i result I cannot full extend my small and ring finger fully. By reducing the alcohol, it has become better.

My question is... can it be fully reversed? Consultants over here (UK) say 'No' but we are still in the dark ages with this stuff. Any thoughts?
