Hi Mrs.D,
The pulmo mentioned about having flu shot because of my lung issue. I have been putting it off because of the posts here about the possibility of vaccines causing PN. I dont want to put more h avoc in my body. Is there a kind of flu shot that would be "relatively safe"? Thank you. Mary |

As far as I know, there is only one flu shot. I don't think different varieties are offered. I personally know of no one that has gotten (or suspected even) PN from the shot...other vaccines may have a higher risk. MrsD is the best source for this discussion.
I would think you and your doctor should decide which is the best based upon your current condition...and how the flu itself might affect this if you got it. You need to weigh the risk vs complications of flu in this case. |

That is a dilemma.... I definitely avoid them myself.
They tend to hide the adjuvants in there... it is the adjuvants that cause the reactions. I couldn't find a listing for ingredients in the past commonly for flu vaccines. As you can see finding "ingredients" is not easy and is confusing. http://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2012/0...nts-2012-2013/ Ask your doctor for a list of ingredients... you won't get one. Doctor's don't know what is in vaccines, as a rule. Check out the insert before accepting. The link here explains some of the possible ones. Ask a pharmacy for the insert if you decide to get a shot, and look it over carefully. Here is another: http://digitaljournal.com/article/332642 The ingredients in vaccines are alarming and of course contaminants may be present and not listed. In the past other viruses were in many vaccines. Vaccines have become political, and a huge money maker. The risks this year involve so many viruses included. Each virus manufacture involves potential contamination with other viruses present. The worry which has been increasing is that autoimmune disease may be triggered, or caused by all the adjuvants in the vaccines. Dr. Blaylock goes into that in detail in his videos on YouTube, and animal studies that show autoimmune results. Squalene in particular. We have had a poster here who received H1N1 vaccine (Canada) and developed PN as a result, recently. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...highlight=H1N1

Here is the official link from FDA.gov
http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsro.../ucm315365.htm It lists the 3 virus strains included, and also the names of each flu shot by manufacturer. All manufacturers typically put their own ingredients in their particular vaccine. So one needs to research each separately. The viruses themselves are dead, and it is not likely that they cause the problems. It is the OTHER ingredients, called adjuvants, the egg protein, and antibiotics and other things that are problematic. Also the contamination issue is serious. For example, it is now thought that the earlier polio vaccines were contaminated with a monkey virus, and that AIDs came from contaminated experimental HEP B vaccines in the 70's, by Merck. Dr. Blaylock has many YouTubes now, explaining in detail, what he thinks about all this. So do please search his name there and watch.

Does anyone have any info re. the safety of the Tdap vaccine. I'm due for mine soon and am hesitant to get it since I have neuropathy that appears to be autoimmune in nature. Thanks

People can opt for having titres drawn via blood tests, to see if they really need boosters or not. They are even doing this for cats now, for the distemper boosters, and finding those are not really needed either.
![]() http://www.caberfeidh.com/FelineTiters.htm There have been parents on the net in the past that had titres drawn for their children.

For what it's worth, my medical oncologist said NO to me getting one this year. I've done 4 cycles of chemo, have 4 more to go. He says my immune system is too low right now

My husband has been "nagging" me to have it. He was asking me what could be the worst situation for my PN compared to the possibility of having flu considering my predisposition to lung problem? en bloc, as I read more information about M.Avium, it makes me more concerned about it. If one does not have a negative result after 12 months, in all likelihood, the medicines will not work. Well, I hope that I could finish the course without much side effects (today will be the first blood monitoring). Thank you for "listening". |

Thank you for providing me with the valuable links. This will help me make the decision. Goodness, back when we were healthy, this is not a difficult decision! ![]() Yes, I remember the poster who received H1N1 vaccine who developed PN. I wonder how he/she is.... Again, thank you Mrs.D. You have given so much of your time in this forum. I am grateful. Mary |

It is your decision, in the end.
But keep in mind that the flu shot does not protect against everything. You can still get colds, other flu strains or pneumonia from many other things, including bronchitis. So don't expect this to be a guarantee of anything. It is just a guess at best, since the selections are made many months before flu actually starts to circulate.
