Hi
I was diagnosed about a year ago with PN. I am still fully functional (able to walk, work etc) but I am concerned about the day I won't be. I have three kids and I am the primary provider. I currently have LTD with my employer but I am getting ready to change jobs. My new employer will not offer benefits and I will need to purchase them on my own. I am wondering whether I can continue my existing coverage on my own or whether I can purchase an individual plan on my own which won't break the bank. I am obviously very concerned about not being able to support my family as this progresses and I am hoping that somehow current insurance laws will aid me in continuing my existing policy as I change jobs or enable me to get a new policy given the fact that I have purchased LTD through my employers for many years and long before my PN diagnosis. Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated. |
