Default Petechiae like freckles?

I have started to present random individual tiny brown freckles rather like petechiae ,but its not, on my lower limbs. My legs are swollen thigh to and including knee- both legs . Have idiopathic PN and awaiting for EM diagnosis confirmed. These 'freckles' are mostly on my shin, calves and ankle areas . Have considered hyperpigmentation due to medication but doesnt fit. Been on same meds for years. Freckles are definitely not red - looks like normal freckles. Obviously my legs are on fire and painful but these dont itch - i just noticed them when inspecting how atrophied my legs are getting( aside swelling). Have got superficial phlebitis both legs due to pressure from swelling.
Shout out to MrsD . Vascular problems? God bless everyone mads x

Are they round? or irregular?

Dark brown, or light brown?

Only on the legs?

Some brown pigmentation comes from hemochromatosis and
can be seen on the skin. Hemochromatosis will cause PN too.

Sometimes the bronzing is all over but others it is in the form of freckles that merge. This page has a photo of a young woman who was diagnosed with melasma (hormone freckling) and in reality she had hemochromatosis.

If you could provide a photo...that would help.

Hi MrsD,
Thanks for that. They look like normal little freckles, have about 25 scattered randomly across legs more light brown. They are round.Yes, seem to be just on lower legs.If i was not with PN and EM i'd jprobably think nothing of it - maybe sun or something. But im housebound and dont see light of day. Its not that. I just seem to be getting more appear - randomly- not together. Also have a larger one appear today that is bit larger , round and looks more like a bruise - but its not.Im really feeling so dreadfully ill. So many symptoms - getting worse. I'll try to sort out photo.
God bless x

I just sense its something. No reason to get freckles appear.Strange that neuro was talking about maybe refrral to vascular specialist.

Bruise like discolorations on the shins can be erythema nodosum.

These tend to be large though.

They may be reddish or brown.

May also be cafe au lait spots.
Some freckles come with age and mostly on exposed areas of skin.
