Still can't figure why my neurologist would put me on Neupro to try for SFN. It's for Parkinsons and Restless Leg Syndrome.
Been using the Neupro patches for six days and not any help and supposed to call and let him now after a week if its done anything for me. Gabapentin was a flop. Amitriptyline did little and had too many side effects. Tried one other (can't think of the name) and didn't help. Anyone have any med they think helps their SFN? I do have to be careful what I take however due to a history of ulcers caused by medications in the past. I'm getting frustrated. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks! LillyLee ![]() |

Sorry Gabapentin does not help you. It helps me best in its extended release form - Gralise. There are a few other drugs I've tried and did not work for me but I don't have my list with me. I will try to find that and post.
Lidoderm patches are a sodium channel blocker patch that help me. I don't know how different they are from Neupro but it may be worth a shot. |

This says may have anti-depressant activity:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotigotine However, the side effects are rather extreme for an antidepressant. To get some dopamine anti-depressant actions, Wellbutrin would be more appropriate perhaps?

Thanks mrsD. It sounds like Lidoderm is quite a bit different. You learn something new every day.
In that case I would definitely give it a shot, LillyLee. |
