An expert, as far as CMT goes, told my support group that another test is not necessary. I know I am worse now as far as CMT goes. And there are many, many types of CMT. Also, as far as CMT goes, they can tell if you have CMT1 or CMT2 the EMG/NCV test. CMT1 shows as slower than normal nerve conduction speed. CMT2 shows near normal nerve conduction speed or mildly slowed. To get the sub type you have to have DNA blood testing. This information is for a person who has CMT. Kitt Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) |
