just to set everyone's minds at rest, electrocuted did check in to the forums this afternoon and hopefully saw all the supportive posts here

as y'all know, sometimes when we have pain or are feeling down, we dont always feel up to posting, so that is likely why no reply

If a member doesnt accept emails then the option to PM is there

electrocuted, I do hope today is a bit brighter and less agonizing for you and that you will be able to post and let us all know you are ok soon

we care!

Default Electrocuted...

tho I've not been in YOUR shoes [sorry could be interpreted as a very bad pun] I do KNOW all too well that pain....Read my thread about 'anniversary' and know that others, feel pain, in many different ways, and all the stresses that go with it...
It's HARD but when I found all these good folks 3 years ago, I suddenly found that I WAS NOT ALONE! You aren't here. I've had your thoughts at times and decided I, I, yes I was going to make some doc jerks liars! I believe I have, and hope you can prove them all wrong as well.

First off YOU ARE SMART - you've asked for help. I hope you are getting some, even tho it may not seem enuf....We have all been thru varying degrees of the pain[s] you are and we KNOW what it's all about!

I do believe that we all put OUT THERE to varying degrees all the frustrations about getting diagnosed, dealing with this stuff and then LIVING with it...

IF any one of us YOU feel speaks to you in any which way...well, just PM us! Theres not a soul that's posted here you've not struck some other nerve about...PUN INTENDED! We all can help you if you let us...so,, share that burden! Hugs and heaps of good thoughts till you post again..and I for one sure hope you do...we all can get thru this somehow! - j

Electrocuted,

I am guessing that perhaps you are feeling a little overwhelmed at all the advice and suggestions you have received. Don't worry - there will be time to sort everything out . . . hopefully as you feel a little better.

At the risk of hitting the tipping point . . . I would like to add just a bit more. I would strongly encourage you to seek out a therapist. Quite a few of us here have had the combination of intense pain and depressive/suicidal feelings -- I think you can't have that kind of pain without some of those feelings. And quite a few of us have benefited by having someone whom we can talk with and will listen and understand.

I am not recommending this because you are "sick" or "mentally unbalanced" or whatever . . . just because it usually helps. Having regular sessions provides not only support when we need it the most, but also can supply some needed grounding and structure when it seems like there is no reason to live.

As it turns out, I am a clinical psychologist, who at one point in my career worked with chronic pain patients. Then I became one myself, so I do know both sides of that relationship. If you want any info or advice about any of this, I would be glad to help.

Also, to keep adding to the pain relief list . . some other things that might help include electrical stimulation and topicals. In my experience, virtually all of us respond to some intervention of this type. You may have to do a little trial and error experimenting, but relief, at least to some degree, is available. There are many postings about these things here -- and if you are not up to searching, no need, just ask . . . as you see, the folks here are only too happy to help.

Default Hello Electrocuted

I hope you are reading the posts here and will know that all of us are very concerned about you. I cannot imagine the severity of the pain you must be in, having never experienced anything like you have. I am so sorry...

There are a number of us here on this board who have gone through some very tough times though, and for many of us, this board has been a tremendous source of help and strength during these times.

We would be most happy to do anything we could to try and help, or just be a sounding board for the frustration that comes when you cannot get answers, relief, or help from physicians. There is no need to feel any embarrassment for posting your feelings, regardless of what they are. There are several here who have had similar feelings. You will find this to be a nice group composed of people from all over, all of whom really want to help one another.

Please let us hear from you and know that we are all thinking of you.

Cathie

Hi. Before this issue I had I had severe depression/anorexia. I tried to comit suicide about 6 years ago and ended up in psych unit. I have been inpatient before for depression and treatment of anorexia. One thing through this and after that issue I realized suicide is not the answer and you hurt the loved ones you have. Even if you feel you just can't go on think of that one person who will be devestated and hopefuly in time you will feel good enough to want to live for you. You can't give up hope and I know so hard as I have also been in the worst bed ridden pain of my life but using the support you have to get through. I'm still in op therapy and before this the depression is still a constant battle. I know you feel no one understands and the pain is too deep or will never go away but for me reminding mself I'm not alone and people do get better. I know its easier said then done. Have you thought about checking yourself in to a psych unit? There are many non hospital based one as well that are residential treatment. I have learned a lot of coping mechanisms and gotten a lot of support through fellow suffer and the structure helped me get back on a better track. I really hope for myself when able to be more out of bed and I'm still hoping I can attend support groups for pain. I attend ed groups and I really encourage you to maybe look into a support group. It can help to feel less alone and you may meet a friend. I'm new to this board but if you want an email buddy I would love one too. Sometimes reaching out is hard and those especially hard times are when you really need to. Please stay strong and hold to hope.
