--and post it here, where we can get a good look at it.
Usually, beyond all the detail, there is a summary section labelled "impression" or some such that indicates what overall was found; it may say something to along the lines of "patient has test results consistent with a distal motor neuropathy" and it usually will give the body parts affected--and it may also indicate which test results led to this impressiono, such as "evidence of prolonged latency in . . ." or "evidence of conduction block . . .". In general, EMG/Nerve conduction studies are looking to see if nerve impulses generated by the machinery are conducted along the nerve pathways and speeds and intensities characteristic of those pathways in "normal" patients of relative ages. When things go wrong, nerve impulses my be slowed, come through patchily or incompletely, or be blocked entirely--each tends to point to specific possibilities. |
