I mentioned in my Chi post that the two things I am doing now is Chi machine and Vit C. I have been looking into the importance of Vit C and neuropathy. I have not seen it added to the supplements list here or talked about much.
http://www.practicalpainmanagement.c...ral-neuropathy The above link contains discussion plus this: Recognizing the limitations of pharmaceutical treatment, we previously reported on the therapeutic application of a combination of five micronutrients for management of diabetic neuropathy1: alpha-lipoic acid n-acetyl-cysteine L-carnitine selenium vitamin C Throughout the course of our investigations it became apparent that patients with peripheral neuropathy of unknown origin seemed to benefit from the use of these agents as well. This prompted an extension of our original efforts. We conducted an open label study of patients with peripheral neuropathy of multiple etiologies. It is conceivable that the supplements we used benefit peripheral nerves—regardless of the cause of the neuropathy—because they increase the intracellular ratio of glutathione from its reduced to oxidized form. I have also asked about selenium here but again not much is said here on this forum about it but thought it was worth mentioning again. Well, on to more research. Just thought I would share. As I stated in my chi machine post, the last week has been heaven for me, not sure if its the Chi or the C , lol. Last night when a flare started I used my chi and it stopped the flare within 30 min to a mild episode. |

I take those and others also. The whole body needs good food and supplements to heal, helps immune system, antioxidents help and glutathione helps clean up also. I take NAC and Liposomal Glutathione. Hormone balance is key for me also.

Some of the RSD posters use high dose
Vit C... Antioxidants are good for inflammatory problems. There are some papers recommending 250mg of C for diabetics.. More than That may interfere with blood sugars and some testing strips. Because this has not been clearly clarified As yet I don't recommend high C doses here. But people are free to do as they Choose.

Hi Stacy. I will have to see what brand of NAC I take. I use the brands my doctor likes for supplements.

Only use 250mg for a while and see if Your testing changes. The studies on this topic do not agree with Each other so it remains unsettled factually. I myself use only 250mg a day. It seems To really help my gums and arthritis.

There is no proof it raises blood sugar.
Most likely it is coincidence, In My Opinion. But who knows until there is real proof. I am taking 4 grams a day and it has not affected my blood sugar, but I will say that I am not taking it on an empty stomach as suggested. Because of acid reflux I am having to take it AFTER I eat, so in theory I am not absorbing all of it. |

And others not. There may be factors that Are unique for some and not others. Vit C may interfere with some glucose testing chemical systems as well. IV by passes the liver. All oral products go thru the liver as first pass. So that may be a liver function since the liver is involved With blood sugar control. But that is only a guess on my part.
