Had the hair stopped growing? Where is it? How noticeable is the difference? I believe hair growth has more to do with circulation than with nerves, but I definitely have less hair on my lower legs and none on my feet, ankles and hands as my nerves die back.
This also happens with age. I am finding that peri menopause means I shave my legs less but the unwanted facial hair keeps me busy... |

I wish someone else would chime in. I don't know very much about diabetic neuropathy, your other reactions sure sound like some of it is the flu shot.
I do not think the hair is significant, but if you are experiencing hair loss and gain simultaneously it could be hormonal or thyroid, I would get both checked. |

Hair loss on legs below the knee especially can be due to poor circulation. CMT will do this. Also, aging can do it. Good article on it:

Not that this applies to your specific case, but nerve damage can definitely cause abnormal hair growth. I developed Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome while in a cast following thumb surgery. When the cast came off, my forearm and hand, which normally have sparse, light-colored hair, were covered with thick, dark hair. It took many months for the nerve damage to heal and the hair gradually to go back to normal.
