Default new and confused

I am new here and was just told yesterday that I have nerve damage in my feet
This started sbout 90 days ago. I am now at times having aches in thighs and tingle or crawling feeling in and under chin( I did tell doctor all this) but got no comment. He drew blood to check on 1 certain protein. Boosted neurotin to 1800 mg a day.
I read too much on net and now I am upset.
Question 1 whst protein he looking for snd why.2. Just need someone to talk with who has similar issues who can guide me.
