I only know I was in there both times forever. I assume they just kept finding more places to stick the little needles....

It depends on the number of nerves tested and recording the findings. And it probably makes a difference as to the length of time to do the testing if you have CMT vs. some other thing going on.

I had it done. The first part didn't hurt just felt a little weird. She kept using a hair dryer because my feet were so cold. The second part with the needles was not fun. It did hurt but by no means was unbearable. He only did my leg because both tests had already showed a tremendous amount of nerve damage. You will get through take deep breaths, it will be over before you know it.

do you think that maybe they used the heat lamp because you had a low body temperature rather than because of the room being cool?

Perhaps, but the heat lamp was a permanent fixture, in a room dedicated to the procedure, so I assume they use it often?

Default Nerve Test
Thanks to all who responded. I have s better understanding of the proceedure. I have mine Monday so I will let everyone know. I spent 23 years on a police force yet I am terrified off needles.

I just had the nerve study done and it was not that bad. During the needle part, my doctor told me to try not to pay attention to it and so I talked to him through it and that helped.
