Default PPI's for Reflux

For the past few weeks, my heartburn and reflux have been acting up. So much that I did call my doctor for some relief. I believe it started by me being over enthusiastic about supplements and now I gag if I even look at them. The doctor gave me 30 mgs of Previcid.

My question is I am wondering if there is a safe period of time to use these meds so I can calm my stomach down and start slowly incorporating supplements back into my diet. My thought is a couple of weeks. It's worse at night and I do have the head of my bed elevated, but it takes about 3-4 hours after waking up to get rid of the nausea from the reflux each day.

Thanks for any thoughts.

I know some can give you heartburn. No thanks. Not worth it for me.

My thoughts are depending on how bad it is would dictate the treatment. I had stomach acid so bad that I would have asthma symptoms and it also damaged my esophagus. I didn't know it could do that! Also I incorporated probiotics and they seemed to help too.
