I too had a nerve and muscle biopsy. My muscles in my calves had wasted.
But at the end of my weeks stay in the hospital, they sent me to The Santa Clara Medical Center for rehab. They gave me 1 hour of physical therapy and 1 hour of Occupational Therapy and 1 hour where I worked out of a bike machine, weights and the parallel bars. In 12 days when I got discharged, I had regained a lot of the muscle in my calves and legs. I progressed from not being able to walk, to wheel chair, to walker, to arms crutches and not can get about with a cane. Good PT & OT & Gym work-outs are everything. Contact The Santa Clara Medical Center for advise. Good luck!
