I would ask to be tested for sarcoid, and Behcets syndrome.
Sarcoidosis makes inflammatory tissue in the body for little or no reason. And Behcets is an autoimmune disease that causes skin reactivity to injury. Having those bumps still be there is not typical. Behcet's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beh%C3%A7et%27s_disease one test for this is disturbing the skin with a needle to see if a bump occurs that is slow to heal.
