Default Lipoic acid and gabapentin?

Can u take r lipoic acid with gabapentin? I'm taking vitamin c and d, magnesium and omega 3. Is there any benefit to taking lipoic acid for idiopathic sfn? ( probably due to electrical injury + large fiber due to acupuncture injuries)

I have been taking r alpha lipoic acid and gabapentin for several months without any adverse affects. Have done some google searches and haven't seen anything indicating you shouldn't take them together, and I believe there was one study that indicated that the two together were helpful for certain conditions.

Lightbulb

Do not take magnesium (or calcium) with gabapentin. This will inactivate the gabapentin and prevent its absorption, thereby wasting it.

You can stagger them however at different times.

Gabapentin has few interactions because it is not metabolized by liver enzymes. So most drugs can be taken with it. The sedative effects, however, may be additive with other drugs that also cause sedation.

Is there a point to taking alpha lipoic acid if I'm pretty sure this is from trauma? Should I be taking acetyl l Carnitine? Is it ok to take with gabapentin? I'm not taking any b vitamins because my doc said my b12 was way too high. This may be too much info, so stop reading here if u want... I agree that I might be too high in b vitamins because since I started taking them my urine has been bright yellow ( I drink lots of water) and it has mostly remained that way even though I stopped taking them in April. My doc says it takes a while for b12 to leave your body. I bought b12 was water soluble and any extra left pretty much right away? Should I take any b vitamins separately ( I was taking a combo) . I'm going to try going back to my gluten, dairy, sugar free diet ( with the exception of some berries). I was adding turmeric to my green juices everyday, is that small amount effective or should I take a turmeric pill?
