Winter was easier for me. I got less electric shocks as I was wearing boots and gloves to buffer electricity.

Neuropathy, Hypersensitivity, Cluster Headaches all worse in hot weather.
TN and Neuropathic Facial Pain infinitely worse in cold. Somebody put me in cryogenic stasis until my mind can be downloaded into a robot body ![]() Dave.

Idiopathic PN here. I have long found it to be odd that I have less pain in the wintertime, but it then increases into the spring and summer. Northern hemisphere here, so I've wondered if it had to do with increasing light (I noticed the glimmerings of it starting up as early as January, a month after the equinox), or whatever allergens become active, or just the ambient temperature. Probably the latter, since my symptoms are largely around burning pain and increase on hotter days.

Hi. I have similar reactions to the heat of summer and am dreading the coming season. Winter is difficult too but summer is the one that I get really anxious about. I have central sensitisation disorder which basically means I have severe neuropathic pain over most of my body. My hands and feet in the heat of Summer swell up and are luminous red. Very painful. Let's hope for a modest Summer bluesfan ( :

Thanks indigo - I too am dreading the oncoming summer - specially the rumors of an expected long drought ie: hot sunny days and sweltering nights.
My feet have already started burning again but if they get really bad I might try making some Epsom Salt Lotion - seeing as we can't get the Morton's over here. Are you able to take cool showers to reduce the burning pain or does the water on your skin just add to it? I remember last summer was horrible - I'd take a cool shower and for several hours after it was like walking through a cactus patch. Maybe I should opt for English Dave's suggestion and be cryogenically frozen until next winter. ![]() Take care - stay cool. |

Thanks for your very kind offer St George - "over here" is actually down in New Zealand. By the time it got through customs, had import taxes added etc it's probably just as easy to make it. I've found a couple of recipes on-line so will have a go.
Also have just found Biofreeze here finally, which MrsD recommends. Thanks to the many suggestions I've found here on NT hopefully I'll have a few more options this summer. |

My SFN also very cold intolerant. I feel some better after sweating for some reason. Interesting, when I was on hormones for menopause, my "freeze flashes", as I called intense coldness, were worse. And when I quit hormones they completely went away. Just an observation.
