My muscles in my lower legs, lower back and neck are extremely tight. They feel like they are shortening. For example, I tried looking up in the sky with my son to look at planes and I couldn't even tilt my head back halfway, my neck muscles are so tight. I don't have to try to stretch them like that, just sitting around it feels like my chin is being pulled towards my chest by my neck muscles.
Anybody know what this means? |

My motor nerves are affected, but the symptoms are weakness. Was it a one time thing, or are you still having difficulty lifting your head? The nerves affected for me are my lower legs, but they stay weak all the time. it does not come and go.

It's not a one time thing, it's like this all the time but it's the worst In the morning or after sitting/ resting for a bit.
Does anybody know if this is a sign of muscle wasting? Or some other form of losing muscle function? |

I had this symptom in my legs/feet and I actually had to pull over to the side of the road and stop driving. |

I'd look into tai chi exercises. Too many movements will tire you out, well, they did me, but when I tried it out I was able to rotate my neck looking both ways backing down the driveway much further.
It was amazing, actually.

Canagirl, your symptoms sound like "stiffness," aka "gelling." This article does a good job of describing similar symptoms. If this sounds familiar, doesn't mean you do or don't have fibromyalgia, per se. This is a good description of stiffness/gelling throughout the day. http://www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org...stiffness.html I like Jon's suggestion. I have found Tai Chi helpful as well. ![]() ![]() DejaVu |
