Default Tinnitus

I have tinnitus( ringing in the ears) since the onset of my PN symptoms. Is this common and is there anything that helps?

I have discovered that Olive Leaf extract helps my ears quite a bit.

I only use it for 2 weeks at a time, rest and may restart a couple of months later. I use it for Candida eradication and to help with upper respiratory inflammation and viruses. My ear sounds were getting horrible.. sometime I'd even hear "music" cycling all day long. This all stopped when I'd do my Olive Leaf treatment.

There can be a Herx reaction with it if you have a long term bacterial or viral problem... I usually stop it when I start to Herx...

Look it up online to make sure you don't have any drug interactions etc. I only use 250mg once a day...a very low dose.
I never expected it to help with my lifelong tinnitus...but it did! It was a welcome and pleasant surprise. Some people can tolerate higher doses, but I can't.

Olive leaf extract has shown some effectiveness in glucose management in humans... so it may help with elevated blood sugars.

I don't know if this is common, but is a symptom that I had, which got really terrible during the first several months of getting SFN. I also had a vestibular issue and other hearing issues that went along with it. I saw the ENT at the teaching hospital and it was pretty much a wasted trip as he wasn't able to help me with anything.

Some of the things I did to try to cope with ringing ears: avoid loud noises and situations because they were overstimulating, made my head throb, and made my disequilibrium worse; when I went to bed, I would turn on a fan and use a white noise box; I also tried to ignore the ringing and not think about it; and I quit drinking coffee during that time because I didn't want to stimulate my already overstimulated system. I don't know if quitting coffee helped, but it certainly didn't hurt anything.

I'm happy to say that the ringing in my ears is much better and has almost resolved.

Yes, I have developed tinnitus as one of my symptoms. Its not too bad, and certainly not the most troubling symptom I have.

But no, I haven't found anything that helps it (yet). Maybe I'll try that olive leaf extract.

Yes I had it bad for awhile. But since I've de-stressed it hasn't come up on my radar.

Yes tinnitus came with my neuropathy. It goes with my symptoms. Lots of tinnitus and ear pain when my nerves are flared. This was very bad for me for about 4 months and is not as much of an issue anymore. I have also become more used to it. It happens in the morning mostly.

Seems to be the worst time for me. I didn't hear anyone talk about ribo-flavinoids that are advertised on the TV. The olive leaf extract sounds like a possible twofer as I am not in good glucose control.Good Luck, Ken in Texas.
