I also take Gabapentin (3) 100mg capsules WITH dinner. I can make it through the day but night can be bad. It took 2 weeks for my body to get use to it. I'm sure it helps with the burning and twitches because about an hour after I take it my sensations are considerably milder. If not for that I would get off of it.

I also use Aspercreme with Lidocaine for burning/pain and Morton's Epsom Salts for twitches. Also Topricin Cream is good.

I am looking into getting a compounded topical cream that includes Gabapentin and some other ingredients. Your doctor would need to be involved with that. There are posts on this if you search "compounding cream"

I didn't respond initially because I am retired and didn't fit into "Full or part time?" I was a teacher and if this had started when I was working I can't imagine what I'd have done. Probably been fired! Sleep is the minimum requirement to being surrounded by middle school students all day long
Hi Pinkynose,

Any side effects from taking the Benfotaimine?

Glad to hear you're retried...that must help a lot.
