Thanks no your so right I should of turned the ringer off and was going to but then drifted off to be awoken by my friend. The weird thing is I have talked to her 1 time in the past 6 months. So why at 1 does she call? I really hope for me as I age the sleep gets better. All my friends in there 20's still can sleep through anything or anywhere.Anxiety its such a battle really. I have come far but it still is hard to control. Don't you think the pain and what if's of this though contribute?

I think I would re-evaluate her status as "friend."

I can't turn my ringer off (need to be available for a frail aunt) and I have told a few people to call me anytime if they are "dying or on fire" . I sure would let anyone who called me at 1:00 am without a very good reason that they'd better not ever call again after a designated time.

I agree completely with Rose.

And I hope you have more and more anxious free days.

Anxieties are a killer. They take over your soul and you have no energy for anything. For some people, their belief system, is a comfort.

I have a friend with Stage 3 lung cancer and I have no idea where she gets her strength. We talk once in a while because she is so frail and people never stop calling her and they drop over all the time. She appreciates that I don't and I let her call me. I mean, they mean well, but they give her no peace.

And she's also anorexic. Has been that way for over 45 years. It's hard.

All the insecurities. Her own children don't comfort her. Very self-absorbed.

So I'm there if she needs me. She's on fentanyl patch, morphine pills and oxy-contin. And the other day she phoned me and she sounded just fine. I could not understand how a person who weighs all of 89 lbs and taking all these drugs and just came home from a chemotherapy session, could have gone "HEY MELODY, HOW THE HECK ARE YOU??"

I said "my god, you sound great, how are you?" and she said "hanging in there, I wish people would stop calling me every 5 minutes".

Her neighbors are always dropping in. They worry about her. She just wants to sleep. I never knew that a little body like that could take all these drugs and still be alive. She teaches me stuff all the time. Her courage is amazing. I could learn much from her. I don't think I would be that brave.

Of course, she is also on paxil and xanax. Has been for years.

Amazing, what the human body can go through.

My Mother Jonnie Joe decide it was nobodies decision or business if she
chose to go on Chemo (she didn't). And amazing to see her never have
to take anything to sleep,or spend a day in bed, because if there were
new shoes in the store. And manage to take those cruises with her buddy
Bob. One day i asked aren't you afraid, she said no don't you remember
you told me not to be. You know i must of but i don't remember. She only
complained that her feet were swelling, and she made us all laugh. We
are all different but i think we are all brave and strong in our own way. I
do have a 91 yr. old Aunt who i told to call me anytime, but she's in bed
at 9 and up at six no pills, but a beer at 4. ha I never slept good brfore
meds or after taking meds. Mel i just saw Fried Green Tomatoes again, and i
like Bill Murry's Lost In Translation because i away's wonder what he
whispers
in her ear at the end of the movie. Remember those movies when you
had to make up your own endings are go crazy. It's going to rain,i'm tired
but no pain. to you all and i hope you sleep all of you who need
it soon. Sue

Hi Sue:

Right now, some crazy people are shooting off fireworks outside. IN THE RAIN!!!! I must be getting old. I used to like to go out and watch all the pretty colors in the sky!! But not in the rain. Who shoots fireworks in the rain?

I'm getting old, that's all there is to it!!

all those guns. I tell him to just keep his head down,he can be so funny
sometimes. It's raining here to. Mel how long does it take you to get
downtown from your house. For instance say to your PN meetings???
Do you go by subway do you need a car to get to Dr. or is it like my
kids they use a lot of public transportation. Wow there's a lot of noise
and i use to sit out and watch it as well. Now i listen to the police scanner
it's so funny,to listen to there reactions was that a gun or firecracker,
this is a big day in a college town. That thing you showed Mel for Alan's
calves and feet i was looking at that to. My son found a fold up dance bar,
i forget what he calls it's,i think it starts with F he said it was really strong.
I think we should all switch houses and apartments for a few weeks for a
cheaper vacation. I hope who ever gets mine likes to clean and is in the
mood for a garage sale. D and J and whoever are you sleeping i'm bored.

Sue, we take Access-a-ride everyplace.

Sometimes, (very rarely, and only in the afternoon), if I have to go into NYC (and I'll only go if Alan comes with me), we go by subway. But we come home by Access-a-Ride.

The Neuropathy support group meetings are over till September.

I missed the last one because Alan had that bad cold and it was right after his IVIG infusion and he was tired.

So hopefully we go again in September.

So hope you all had a nice un-eventfull 4th of July.

The fireworks just stopped. It's 11:14 p.m.
The dogs go crazy in my neighborhood when someone shoots off fireworks. Do you know that they have to give the dogs, doggie tranquilizers on the 4th of July? I never heard of such a thing. My friend's dog, Babe, goes out of his mind because of the fireworks. Poor thing!!!

I know in NY and Chicago the subway is what you do. I lived in Chicago a week and did that but I still can't imagine daily. I'm a car girl if my car is in the shop oneday I feel trapped even if don't need to go anywhere. I remember Chicago it being so cold waiting for transportation. Oy! I lived near NY in NJ so it was a nice balance being able to go there. I love plays and nothing like NY for that.

I usually do but waiting for docs and family to call I forgot to turn it off. I really in the future am going to start speaking up more. I feel bad so I never say anything but then I always get hurt. Its just not this but other things. I think some people assume if there easy sleepers all are. My mom said I should call her at 4 am. The thing is she would sleep right through.
