Hi Cliffman

I know of someone who made something similar using lightweight plastic plumbing/electrical piping connected with the rounded corner joiners - from the hardware store. I think it sat on top of the bed - kind of like a rectangular arch. Although that one in the photo looks kinda nifty and not that bad a price if it gives the comfort needed - have you tried looking for a used one on ebay or other sites? Good luck finding something suitable.
