HI Cyclelops,
Yep I did have some buzzing after riding the tractor. I'll try sitting on my cushion I use in my car when I mow next time.
I finally got my Fentanyl patches so I hope they help with the pain I've been having.

HI Dan!
How long did you have to wear the patch before you could tell it was working? Now that I have the patch on I'm not suppose to take my day time Lyrica and just take 2 Lyrica at night. I hope that covers the pain all day....I'm ready for a much less painful day!

Default Hello!

I got back from my vacation a couple of weeks ago, but have had computer trouble, so this is my first chance to log on. I have been enjoying catching up! I had a good time, but it was rough on my feet. I really pushed past the pain a lot, and now I am left with a little more numbness/pins and needles area on my feet -- as if it did some damage. It's hard to know what to do: push myself, rest, whatever. I've never had the buzzing -- sounds awful. Aching and shooting pains bad enough. I do get a lot of relief from the fentanyl patches, though, so I hope it helps you, Roxie.

Hi D. glad you had a good time but trips kill feet and most body parts.
But if you hadn't gone you would wished you had.

Roxie shoot,i hope the patches help you,but my Dr. said i would have
to have a body one,no such luck. Well no Water Ski. this weekend,
not so smart Derm Dr. gave me a cure all for cellulitis and now here
i go again. Got it from my knee to ankle and bad. Already fever and
chills and appointment for wound and burn clincic this Thursday.
But the way it looks i bet i'm be back in the hospital Monday. Ouch!!
Well if you date a Dr. you might see him 1 way or another. So your
still buzzing hmmm Have you been to the pain Dr. yet?? It wouldn't
hurt to put a thick pad on anything. When i use my electric wheelchair
even through well padded put more in it. Hope that stops or your going

Sue:

Are you confusing the Lidoderm Patch, with the Fentanyl Patch?

The Fentanyl patch (the one that Roxie just started using) is FOR THE WHOLE BODY. It's kind of like a synthetic morphine derivative that is delivered via a transdermal patch. You wear it for 3 days. And it has a half life of 36 hours (I believe). It does work. They start you at 25, and hopefully you stay at 25 but most people have to increase it. It's carefully monitored. You only wear one patch for 3 days. (Actually, there was a time when Alan was prescribed it for every 2 days and that is extremely unusual, and we had such a bad time convincing the pharmacist that Alan was actually prescribed it for two days. The pharmacist called the doctor and he argued with the doctor. Can you imagine this happening?? But it most certainly did.

Now the Lidoderm patches. That's only a topica lidocaine patch that, when you put it on, relieves only the area that you put it on!!!

Alan used to cut up the Lidoderm patches and wrap each little strip around his toes (where his PN is). It did work way back then, but then it stopped working. I really think Alan is afraid to have a drug in his body, and that's why he won't even put the lidoderm patches on anymore.

Me??? I put them on my frozen shoulder. Works like a charm.

Melody

Good Morning Dakota and Sue!
The fentanyl patches aren't for a specific area like Lidocaine patches. The Fentanyl patches send an Opiate drug thru your whole body to help reduce the pain. I put on my first patch yesterday afternoon around 2pm and it's already helping today. You wear them for 72 hrs at a time. I'm just taking 2 Lyrica at night now. Sooo so far so good!
Gosh Sue I'm SO sorry to hear about your pain from the new med. I hope you can get it under contol soon! It sounds miserable!! Let us know if you end up back in the hospital. Some hospitals have computer for patients now.....I love that! What will the dr. or hospital do for you if you end up there?? Is there specific meds to help you??
I'm having what feels like heat coming from my arms today.....I guess it's the IVIG working. My arms aren't hot......but they feel hot on the insides of them. I have a little buzzing but not real bad this morning.
Looks like we are in for more rain here in Houston. The yards starting to get dry so a 'little' rain would be nice....but no gushers! Have a great weekend y'all.........sure great having y'all to chat with!

Hi Roxie:

Just picture it. You and Alan, sitting side by side, with the visiting nurse checking your vitals, and you and Alan are sipping something nice and cool while all those anti-bodies are doing their thing.

That's what I tell Alan to imagine. But in his case, when he takes the Benedryl, he falls fast asleep and sleeps through most of the 4 hours.

So I get to talk french with the nurse for all that time. It's really cool. And she even thought I was born in France. Now how cool is that??

lol
