I've been researching some magnesium lotions/gels available here in Canada and was wondering about this one (Natural Calm):
"Each 8oz (237ml) bottle of Transdermal Magnesium Chloride Gel is estimated to deliver 60 mg of magnesium per undiluted milliliter. Ingredients: Each 1ml of seawater contains 225mg of magnesium chloride. Potency equivalent: 60mg Non-medicinal ingredients: Distilled water, amigel. Contains no fragrance" Is that a reasonably potency? These items are not cheap, so I want to make sure I choose the right one! ![]() Any thoughts or suggestions on other brands - bearing in mind my location. Many thanks, Linda |

The magnesium lotions really don't have much in the way of explanation of what is really ABSORBED.
You'll just have to try them on say one foot or one leg and see what happens. I looked up Amigel and it does not really say if it carries the target molecules thru the skin. It is mostly a cosmetic item to apply to the skin which is different. Cosmetics usually don't carry thru but just sit on the top of the skin. I know the lotion I have (a stockpile of discontinued Morton's) does penetrate, as I get a healthy strong response when I use it, often within 1/2 hr. But the CVS one I had in the past which is also gone, didn't do that. It had a different lotion base I guess. Getting the magnesium thru the skin barrier is really the clincher.

I used this at times:
Life-Flo Pure Magnesium Oil, 8-Ounce: Amazon.ca: Beauty It's an American product. Perhaps this is useful? There's also a lotion form. I always get the best results from a 20-30 minute soak in 1-2 cups of epsom salt. |
