I agree with the above. If I were you, I would take B12 absolutely alone and I would use 5000 mcg per day. And Jarrow is the one I have seen most confirmation of, but I'm sure there are other brands just as reliable.
And I would be very nice to my liver, as MrsD said. It could be another one of the many hoops B12 has to go through, but that would be my first thought too. rose

Thanks for the replies people.
I usually take my B12 separate from food. My liver profile, a while back, was out of whack. Elevated ALT? (I think) plus previously something like gamma something or other. Anyway they did an ultrasound and the report said “fatty liver” Which I take to be enlarged, a bit of booze over the years perhaps. In the UK they will only give a shot every 3 months, cuts the National Health bill I suppose. Over the years still progressively going downhill, long story. Thanks for the replies Regards to all Mr Bojangles |

If I remember correctly a fatty liver can also be autoimmune related. And of course B12 malabsorption often is.

Hi to all, it has been so long since I posted over here. This was such a lifesaver for me back in 2003 when I first found my B12 deficiency with the help of Rose!
You are right about the autoimmune part and I am wondering if Mr. B might have some issues with gluten. Here are a couple of sites that talk about Celiac Disease (which is an autoimmune disease) and Liver problems. http://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=98 http://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p...56107121078.3b Quote:
I am not sure but I think somewhere a while back someone mentioned that Source natural B12 had gluten in it. If you are having an absorption problem, this may be the cause of your B12 not increasing. Hope this helps. Llonghair |
