Default What is with this vein in my arm??

The reason I am asking this, is I was reading Roxie's post about her vein problem. Maybe I over did it. I feel perfectly fine by the way. I've been cleaning all day. Lots of energy and did lots of stuff.

Now remember, I used to be morbidly obese and I am not any more. I may have 30 or so lbs to lose but if I didn't, well, it's no big thing. I wear a size 12 and for a 60 year old, this is okay. From now on, it's just plain old vanity kicking in.

Well, I happened to glance at my hand for some reason and I saw my veins. They are bulging. It's only on my right arm. I took some photos. I compared my left hand and arm to my right hand and arm and the right one, well the veins are more pronounced. This has always been so, all of my life.

Does this happen when a fat person loses lot of weight and now you can see their veins and stuff?? I have had spider veins on the side of my legs for 40 years. They don't bother me. Never have.

I have a few vericose veins on my legs but nothing to go "oh my god, look at those veins". Nothing like that. And they don’t bother me.

But just now I said 'holy cow, what the heck".

So is it because I turn 60 in November. Is this what getting old does to a person's skin? It becomes thinner so you see the veins more??

I'm just curious. I don't want to go to a doctor over this and say "look at these veins and have him say "Melody, you're 60, what do you expect"??

They do not hurt. My arm feels just fine. It's all vanity, I suppose.

But I would like to know.

Thanks to anyone who has seen veins like these on themselves or anyone.

Here are my veins:

Do you see the vein I’m talking about?. It’s one long vein leading from my hand up my arm. Oh, just took another photo because if I change the position of my hand it doesn't seem so puffed up.

Here's a shot of my hand.

Oh, by the way, I looked up veins on google and they actually do vein treatments on hands. Only costs $3,500. Yeah, I'm rushing.

But get a load of these hands. I did a OH MY GOD moment.
