I think you should take a look at my forum and read the stories there from the ladies. We have many sick women and we also have women that are not sick but hate their implants because they are uncomfortable or they are experiencing pain from the implant sitting on a nerve.

It is packed full of info on implants and I also have some pictures there of saline implants after being removed. We had two ladies that had their implants removed and they were completely black with mold. There are many type of mold/fungus and another lady had her implants removed to find a white substance floating in them. She had them cultured to find out it was mold as well.

My implants were yellow and filled with bacteria as well as mold. I had chunks of bacteria growing inside those damn things.

My forum is www.breastimplantsupport.org and my personal story is www.toxicbreastimplants.org.

The pro-implant sites will not tell you the truth of what COULD happen. This sites will. Again, not everyone gets sick but who wants to play russian roulette with their health.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

If you have a fall or accident and your implant bursts, all that crud
goes into your body? How do the bacteria /mold get in there? They were already present? OR if they got in there AFTER implantation, that implies
they can LEAK out without a rupture? If they were already in there, it makes one wonder how "sterile" or clean they are when they go in.

This is totally beyond gross...it is dangerous and stupid!

Default Vanity, vanity, vanity.

It is amazing what people will do--and what might happen due to what they do--because of this one little word.

I'm don't mean this flippantly--there are serious concerns with self-image for many people. But (especially as a proponent of rational-emotive psychotherapies), I think it's safer--and far more long-lasting--to change the self-image psychologically.

As I wrote before, I can certainly see situations in which an implant (of any sort) might be necessitated to bring back some aspect of vital functioning. But with most of them being done for aesthetics rather than vital function . . .

Think we need to free ourselves from the tyranny of measuing up to whatever unreasonable physical standrard we have in our heads first. I imagine THAT may all by itself slow down the rate of medical spending.

It may be easy to change self image for some people but not all. When you are raised to believe you don't measure up from your own parents then that is something very hard to reverse if not impossible. I've been through years of therapy and I must say that it did more harm than good.

I also think that the media plays a huge role in this. We all open a magazine or turn on the TV and see what the 'perfect' woman should look like and those images are not very realistic.

Once that changes, if it ever does, then I suspect that we will see less and less women getting implants and cosmetic surgery.

Default And here is the NY Times weighing in:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/17/fa...IN.html?ref=us

The article concentrates more on the inconvenience of maintenance than illness-producing outcomes of implantation surgery, but the implication is certainly there.

There are many theories and problems with saline implants. First being is that we have microscopic mold and bacteria just floating around so its almost impossible to not have something start growing inside. Also, there are doctors that don't fill the implants properly. Also, saline only has a two year shelf life.

Then there are the faulty valves. Many of the implants have faulty valves. My implants had a bi-directional flow and that is how all that bacteria started to grow in there.

Some of these implants are so toxic inside that if they were to rupture, they could kill you.
