Now I know all about live enzymes and the fruit and all that.
My question concerns the enzymes that they find when they do a liver function test. Someone once said "they are looking for enzymes, they want to see the enzyme levels". Now I have no idea if there are good enzymes or bad enzymes. So hopefully one of you more knowledgable people will tell me the difference between a live enzyme that is necessary for digestion (and which we find in raw food), and the liver enzyme thing that's going on in one's body. Thanks much Melody

Melody as you know I am clueless. I used to have high liver enzyme the kind in blood work. Anyhow I had to be on a special diet because of fear it turning into pancreatitis. My body had a hard time digesting fat and carbs so each meal had a certain amount so it didn't cause more issues and such a toll on the liver.

Sorry I am a little late coming. Ok...Enzymes right? The liver enzymes can be found in the cells of the liver. If the liver sustains any sort of damage or trauma these enzymes leak out into your bloodstream. They can be measured by blood tests. Depending on which enzymes or combo of enzymes have leaked out and how high the levels are, they can point to various illnesses and states of the liver. Digestive enzymes help the body break down food into small particles that can be digested. Saliva has enzymes, and there are lots of different enzymes involved in digestion. That's all I now about enzymes matey. |

Now I know that digestive enzymes are good. And an excess of liver enzymes are not so good. See, I keep it simple. That's how my little old 60 year old brain functions now a days. Thanks matey. Put a shrimp on the barbie!!! (Always wanted to say that to Paul Hogan by the way), LOVED HIM IN CROCODILE DUNDEE ![]() Take care.

There are also these new enzymes that appareently are similar to digestive enzymes but you take them on an empty stomach. Apparently they help break down Fibren and other bad things in your blood to promotenormal blood pressure etc. Apparently it also works on adhesions within the body.
