Yes, I heard DC got ice....nothing like a good ice storm...

I hear a prominent DC official hit the pavement...I guess he figured you could walk on ice...that scares me.

Default Oh Kkkkknow

I really think we are all going nutz! I'm so cold I've got on pj's, fleecy robe and arm and hand warmers. The temp is hovering at about 60-63 degrees. The heat's not running as a result of the similarity in the indoor and outdoor temp. I'm wearing sandals and no socks tho. Can't stand shoes.

I've noticed a thread of thought all thru the different forums that tell me the winter weather is getting to all of us. And frankly Cycleops, I'm worried about you.

Sleeping with my dog? She's a chihuahua wih a terrible fear of storms. They call it "storm hysteria". We have a memory foam mattress and she has short bristly hair that sticks into the mattress. I also have 2 more of the chi's. (yeah, I know insane!) The house is divided in half with our living room, bedrooms and baths on one side of a half door and the dogs half of the house on the other side. They all sleep on a leather loveseat but.. When it storms, she sits and chirps loudly,..frantically on her side of the door. My husband isn't good enough, she's got to have her "mama", nothing stops her. As soon as I bed down on the couch in her half of the house, she gives a huge rattling sigh and goes to sleep with me.

I told you not to ask. yeah..I'm nutz too.

Billye

Kick up the thermostat and curse the Saudi king....why not?

My yellow dog is bigger than your three dogs combined....you need a yellow dog...nice chubby fat yellow lab.....body heat.

You know the Inuit measure temperature by the number of dogs needed to sleep with at night to keep one warm....hence, three dog night.

Tomorrow night is a three dog night (-30 with windchill, I do not know what the real temp will be, I suppose -10 or so)....but, the dog has to be at least 50 pounds to do much good.....the less bony the better. My yellow dog snores.....she is the lady, but she snores....my 95 pounder is a silver lab and he is a mama's boy....he cries if he can't come in the room....junior is their progeny and bony....the runt...... lately we are trying to train them not to come in, because they have to go to the kennel in May, and he might just have a nervous breakdown due to serious separation anxiety. Separation anxiety in a dog that huge is not a pretty thing.

HA Ha, boy that oh boy went down,we still have my Grannies ice shoes.
She lived high up on a hill. When I went down the hill,we would get
out early and my brother and I try to go down the hill on our sledes,
We would always end up in those high drain ditches..Grannie would come
down find us crying. She would have a flyswatter and ice shoes and bandaids
just in case..On with the shoes and out of her apron nice warm
bisquits.yum yum ,then get on up tp that house do you want to kill
yourself??? We were eating and crying, because everytime she fussed
she would hit us in the but with the flyswatter, but those bisguits
and that home made jam hmmm heaven.Everybody parked there cars if they
hand one, down at the bottom of the hill, they would take the City bus
to the Shoe factory, then along came the school buses,we had to sit
on ice to chance shoes ,no ice shoes on the bus,I couldn't wait to get on
the bus, hoped there would be a seat,it was hard for the girls to get up
outside, buts would be stuck to to the ice covered sidewalk, but I always
got a seat,my brother saved me one. And all the way to the school my but
would defrost..Then we moved to Mi. Mom lied said we would love how
warm it was going to be. Oh sure no schoolbuses ,no warm bisquits
just frozen legs ,and listening to the music all night,we lived over a
Polish dance hall.

I had to get my picc cleaned and fooled whith today, A poor old lady
could't hold it coming through the door she had a walker and a massive
amount of Diahrhea with hit the floor and Bob's new shoes, She started to cry and good old Bob in his loud voice said ahhh don't worry Sue over
there does that all the time..I'm thinking I do what???But there was,
never mind....Anyway I was thinking of doing my own painting, but
I changed my mind..Good old Bob is cleaning his shoes, lucky guy he
can't smell to well. Feel better C,get some rest, back to dentist
Friday, hide me... Hugs to all Sue

Cyclops - duh - never knew where the band 3 Dog Night got their name - learned something today! A friend has two big fat (overweight) labs - one is 120 lbs - and loves to lay right on top of a person as they lay on the couch - its impossible to move unless she decides to get up... but they are great dogs....

Weather does seem to be relative to what we are used too - to me its the only part of the year here that is really bearable - I melt at about 65 and above - and with summers going for days over 105 or so - I'll take the cold any day and trade you guys!

SS - used to get chased around with a flyswat too - was supposed to be a punishment but it just made up kids giggle and got us in more trouble - not really an effective way to instill discilpline is it?

Billye - you know I'd do anything for my critter - dont blame you for keeping your little mop cozy!

Dahlek - should we send a sledge hammer???? Sounds like fun (NOT)......

Oh, and Mrs D - just make sure your mailman is a happy camper at the holidays!!!!!

Stay warm/cool/safe everyone.....

You guys are hilarious... And you have to love that Bob trying to make the poor old lady feel better... Poor thing... Boy, he is quick with the words... Bet you had a hard time keeping a straight face, SS...

Billye: We have divisions here in our house for our 3 Yorkies too... 3 Yorkies times 4 pounds=12 pounds of dogs... It works like this. We have a king size bed. They take their half out of the middle...

Guess we are all nutz...

Kmeb: Hi, how are you (and everybody), doing??

Just got this off of the 3 Dog Night's official website:

"Originally brought together in 1968 by Danny Hutton and Cory Wells, the group was enormously successful from the start. Hutton, who had graduated from loading and unloading records at the Disney studio to recording as a solo artist, met Cory Wells while he was touring with Sonny and Cher. The now-famous name came from a story about Australian aborigines who, on cold nights in the outback, sleep with their dogs for warmth. The coldest evenings are known as "three dog nights""

So now you all know officially how their name came to be.
I STILL REMEMBER, "JEREMIAH WAS A BULLFROG" (from Joy to the World) And Creedence Clearwater did their own version too. Just saw it on youtube. I wish I would have went to Woodstock. I would have had a ball!!

Hi - I'm doing ok thanks... currently being circled like a shark by my four legged creature looking for attention.... 3 Dog Night was one of the first "real" concerts I went too - hate to say - but I think they had one hit which they must have played at least 3 times - and as the name implies - put us to sleep with the rest of it! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Kmeb:

Would you like to know who I saw in Concert??? 40 years ago?? and I remember it like it was yesterday. I believe it was at the Fillmore East in NYC.

I saw SANTANA!!! I will never forget this because my girlfriend Loretta stood up on a chair and shouted. "this is better than sex".. And since I didn't know what she was talking about, I remember thinking. "wow, Santana is BETTER than sex??" Ah, the memories. Sometimes you just gotta remember the GOOD STUFF, right??

Ah, youth!!!
