I am not sure if I am on the right site but recognize some of the names here. A long time ago I used to post about my dad on the brain talk community, but it doesnt appear this site is running anymore, not sure if this was has replaced it. Anyways my dad is 70 , and was diagnosed with PN about 5 years ago, he has good and bad days. Recently he had a heart attack and had to stop taking amatriplyn, but seems to not have got to much worse. Before the heart attack the specialist did some blood tests and they showed something was not right and he was told this may or may not be connected to the pn. He has a appointment with the specialist next month and really believes they will be able to do something, I am worried he may be having false hopes, has anyone else had this with blood results?
My dad takes B12 but still gets a lot of stiffness and finds it hard to sleep. All this aside he still leads a active life and is visiting my sister in Australia for 3 months in November when he was first diagnosed he did not think he would ever get out there. He also is a brilliant Grandfather and still manages to kick a football with my son Tracey |
