Neurontin... does it work?

I am on it..and surely makes a difference in how much I feel the tingling pain pins needles..pain....barely feel it...when usually I feel it..I still feel the numbness wierd feelign but not the tingling pain..yeahhhh

question though...has anyone gotten a bad sore throat with it...like for months since on it...my throat keeps hurting off and on again..kindof most days...hmmmm??? then read something that said if persistant sore throat call your dr ...so wondering.//thanks..sarah

you should see a doctor. It may be a chronic thrush (Candida) which is easily treated.

Or it can signal a lowered white cell count.

I have heard of one person that said her doctor prescribed 4600 mg daily.So according to that we are safe at higher doses.

Another possibility is GERD reflux during sleep. It can burn the throat that way too.

Now I would like to know why it isn't possible to raise the lyrica doses enough to give relief too.... sigh...

Lyrica has been known to be given (in test trials)
up to 900 mgs (or more) daily, w/o adverse s/e.
I've not heard of any docs Rx'ng that high, yet.
I'm at the max of 600mg (200mg 3xday).

Yah, I suppose I am just bemoaning my dr being a jerk and not wanting to up my Lyrica from 300mg (total) a day. He won't even discus anything to do with my drugs. All he wants to do now is blackmail me into doing a steroid injection.

I'm afraid a steroid injection will do little in the way of helping
with alleviation of PN symptoms.
If anything, its only a 'quick fix' for a short time
and most probably will be a waste of time with little, to no results.
