using an absentee ballot.
My husband went today, and there was NO LINE! Imagine that! He took a book and everything. He was #450 at 9:20 am and they expected a rush at lunch and at 4pm-8pm. He just hit the lull after the 7am rush. I didn't think I could manage standing for a long time, so I did the absentee way. Everyone should vote, IMO, too. Thanks for the reminder!

I'd gone early this time, took 4-5 times longer than it would've today. But, I didn't have to 'worry' about that standing around [which I do NOT do well at all!].
I will worry if my vote went into electronic hyper-space tho, until the results are really and truly in. Then I'll worry about which 'space' it went into maybe. Probably another dimension or something. Here is hoping that all will work out as it should - whatever that may be. Hugs to all! ![]() ![]() |

I went and there was no line at all.
Walked in and was given a booth immediately. My wife had the same experience, & we vote at 2 different polling places. All the standing in line for hours from NY to San Fran, must've been a target area for the media to cash in on- the hysteria of the odd-man-out. Whether you liked the outcome or not, if you voted - you made it count!

I was getting pretty tense, this fall. Today I feel so much better. I've had enough of all this!
While CNN did have interesting coverage...I really dislike Wolf Blitzer...he gave me a literal headache. So I turned the station back to ABC and it was a much gentler ride there! And I am not a headache person. The graphics state of the art is amazing tho!

I watched it on the BBC (at around 4am our time). Congratulations USA on your new President! Nothing political here, but it breaks new ground, and to a neutral with no axe to grind, your president elect is very impressive. His acceptance speech had rhetoric but also acknowledged what a tough task lies ahead.
And congratulations especially on avoiding the sort of situation that occurred 8 years ago - I was visiting in CA after the 2000 election and caught all the awful "hanging chads" stuff and vituperation. Not pretty at all. God Bless us all. |

I look at my home state of Michigan, and it breaks my heart. The worst unemployment in the US, and now, with the auto industry getting no help, it will get even worse. People in Michigan are selling their homes at a total loss with "take over payments" sales, and they are leaving the state. I hope this doesn't happen to the rest of our wonderful country.
