Mel,Between my Lyrica & Tramadol, I need something for constipation.
'Fiber Sure'
is only 1 tsp per glass, approx the same price as 'Benefiber', and the bottle has twice the doses. 2 per day -
1tsp am & 1tsp pm before bed and I'm good to GO!

But I have coupons for Benefiber. So it's cheap, I"M GOOD TO GO EVERY MORNING, after I come home from my lovely breakfast nook where we all sit around, laugh our heads off and discuss what's in the newspaper. This breakfast does more for me than anything I could do. And I'm not talking about food. lol

I just wish I could train my body to GO when I get up in the morning. I can't remember what I did in my 20's when I went to work every morning. I must have GONE, because I'm not the type to GO while I'm at work.

I think it's all about conditioning our body to get used to GOING when we want it to GO.

Hey, I'm still learning about my body (even at my age).

God only knows what I'll be doing when I'm 80. I won't be sitting on my front porch knitting. That much I know.

I just came from my breakfast place and they were playing this fast throbbing music. We were in the back. Even with my arthritis, sometimes I CAN MOVE. We were laughing out heads off just tapping our fingers and MOVING in our seats.

And the young ones were enthralled when I told them I'm from the Woodstock generation and I went to Jimmy Hendrix concerts, and Santana Concerts at the Fillmore East.

Ah, for those days.

Now, all the baby boomers are using BEN GAY!!!

lol lol

Default I am becoming......

more and more leary and suspicious of OTC and prescribed supplements. Now I will be even more so?
I've read of many folks and I myself experience the new 'sensitivities' one can acquire about anything and everything in the way of foods, ingestives or topicals? I guess the best one can do is READ the labels and eliminate the seeming offenders and allow others in the door to 'try' and see.
We do seem to become 'fussy' tho. Don't we?

Apparently not all baby bottles are the same. These are the ones my daughter uses.

Evenflo makes glass bottles. Google glass baby bottles.

*nudge* I'll help you with those peanut butter bells if you'd like.

Greed makes the world go round. It is sad.

My daughter is an environmental science engineer (MS), you would be sick if you knew what was out there. I know enough to make me not want to eat.

My big concerns are that drugs and nutraceuticals are being made in third world countries, with no environmental controls on even water quality.

It is sad when we, as grandparents to be, are searching for glass baby bottles, because we have poisoned many infants with bisphenols in plastics. (Yes, daughter in law is breast feeding but you still need some bottles.)

Our current administration has opposed the COOL, Country of Origin Labeling laws.

I don't know what to tell urban dwellers, other than use natural food stores. (Hard I know, given we have entered a 'recession', and I use that term loosely.)

I have tons of beta carotene in my basement....in the form of squash. I can't eat it all. I will convince my husband to raise chickens this spring. I am fed up with the FDA, the CDC and the Federal Reserve.

I wish I felt like eating something more healthy than peanut butter bells right now.

In chosing supplements, choose a brand that has GMP on the label. Examples are NOW, NatureMade, and Puritan's pride.

In choosing toothpaste and other sundries, stay with name brands and do not buy at dollar stores off brands.

A generic company that is good is Perrigo.

We can never be totally sure of anything these days with China running amok. Also big business buying off the FDA is not great either.

Supplements have changed my life. So I continue to use them.
If I notice anything "off" with me, I look carefully at what I am taking. So far in my 60+yrs it has been an RX drug that caused me grief. Either wrong choice or too high a dose has been my experience.
