Wink Here is a cute pic of one of the Blackwater chicks....

I just happened to look in there and caught this chick with his beak wide open
waiting for the food! It was a really good catch time wise...to get this shot!

And our Mom at Norfolk appears to be sitting on another egg? She left the nest briefly and the camera zoomed in to look for an egg...and none was visible at the angle it was fixed to. But it is possible she was ready to lay the 3rd egg, and now she has?
Either that or she is just tired and sitting for a while? Certainly is not for lack of "trying" as they are still very active in that regard!

I'm at work but wanted to let you know that our Norfolk lady has laid another egg.
.
I'm hoping and praying that this little eaglette will make it.

Thumbs up Looking noble and beautiful!

I have to say our Norfolk mom is looking very good today.
(although I caught her napping this morning
.
)

I thought she was looking ragged the past few weeks, but today she is
looking good. The cam has tight close-ups on her too.

Don't miss today!

Exclamation Blackwater chicks...

are growing and doing well. There is a blog that explains sibling rivalry for these two chicks, since food is not as plentiful for them (Dad eagle is not bringing much for them). The link to the blog is on the site:

.

The plumage of these chicks is changing to the darker gray, BTW.

There was a great shot on Easter showing the larger eaglet exercising his/her wings:

Life is tough for all of us, I guess!

what happened...

.

Someone needs to give our Norfolk mama owl a lesson on "nesting behavior". As I've said before, she doesn't realized her own weight when she's startled and then comes back into the nest onto the eggs. There's still hope if they were seen mating again Thursday evening

Lightbulb Another eagle cam....

Here is a video with sound that shows the sounds the eagles make and
the little sounds of newborn chicks. It is pretty interesting:

.

You get to see a parent feeding them gently too.

Lightbulb Falcon cam...

There is also a falcon cam at WVEC and today there are close pics
with high detail of the 3 new chicks newly hatched:

.

They were just fed and now are nestling under their mother's wing.

Very cute!
