March, time for a new thread!
Got up at 8am to read the paper and take a shower. 2 cups of coffee and ate some left over chicken and a pear, because it needed to be eaten and I was a bit late for my 10am appointment.
lunch at 1130, bowl of spinach and lentil soup was very good it also had brocolli in it, yummy! Stopped to have a couple extra cups of coffee later in the day. Saw 3 clients today, easy day. For dinner jeff and I split a very thin crust supreme pizza, about 500 calories total for me. A couple of slices of sharp raw cheddar cheese. then a green peach cranberry juice smoothie. 7 veggies and fruits for the day.:) last night I went with my girlfriend to a support group meeting called connections. Run thru NAMI. there were 20 of us there and spoke just briefly about myself, did not want to say much really just there to watch to see how it was run. My girl friend did not say much either. They used a timer to limit what you said it took 75 minutes to get all of the way around the room, then I had to go baby sit for my girl friends daughter. I just decided that I am going to the gym because I am going to see 50 shades of gray tomorrow with a friend. thanks for your support and for reading my post. bizi I went to the gym and used a new machine to me. It is called an arc trainer. like an eliptical(which I tried but bothered my knees) but with as much incline as you want. I was at 0 incline and it worked my thighs. the staff said it was more like a stair master. I went for an hour and it was indeed a greater work out than the tred mill. My heart rate was around 140 bpm. IT said I burned 500 calories in an hour...don't know that I believe that or not. The only bad thing is that my right big toe joint (injured a year ago)started bothering me if I was not careful with it. I want to eventually be able to jog a 10k. (Last year i mostly walked the 10k but jogged the last mile or so) I made an appointment to see the trainer anna on wednesday night at 7pm...I will talk to her about what is best. |

Many years ago I used to lead a support group called bridges.It was hard to not judge the faciltor who led the group. we were suppose to limit our check ins to 2 minutes so we shoule have been thru the entire group in 40 minutes to have more time to share more in depth. but that was not the case. That was almost too big of a meeting which just goes to show the need for such meetings/ support groups and probably could have 2, wonder if they need another facilitator? Some thing to think about.... bizi |

that is a great thing if there are enough people for two groups. I would say ask them if they would like to have another group. Just even thinking of all the new people that might keep coming along. Can't remember if I told you that my pdoc would not keep me on as a patient unless she wrote my scripts for me. She said she would be available for consult if needed so that is good.
I see my new Osteopathic Doctor every 4 months for a med/mood check. then again for a wellness exam in december. life is good. bizi |

If I was stable then 4 months is how frequently I would have med checks with my old pdoc.
I just joined a meet up group called acadiana fitness. they meet near me tomorrow night from 7-8 and then I plan to go to the gym. Lets see how my social anxiety issue plays out. chance to make some new friends. bizi |

I joined a meet up group, acadian fitness.
They meet for the first time tonight at 7 pm for an hour then I will go to the gym. I invited my girlfriend who I went to the movie last night we were just talking about how hard it is to make new friends. I invited her to join me since this is a way to meet new people. She may not be comfortable going. She has gained alot of weight this year. We both said we would like to jog run a 5 k this year and she wants to do the cajun cup again this year. that is a 10 k that we did last year. I felt badly because I left her to jog on my own because I did not want to be last. Jogging went fine so I think I can do it. My legs are a bit sore from using the new arc trainer machine. It is self propelled so acts differently than a tred mill less impact on my joints better work out. bizi |
WEll I went to the first meet up "acadiana fitness" and there were 3 people there.
Gino, a very nice and totally buff man who started the group, and 2 other women. I liked one woman especially , Julie and I exchanged numbers. So I did make it to the gym after the meeting and worked out on the arc trainer machine, sweat a bit so I know my heart rate was up there. I will shower in the morning. time to get off of the computer. bizi |

UGH!!!!!
I just got back from shopping....the worst thing to shop for??? BRAS! I finally found a bra that fits now and will fit even better 10-15 pounds from now. So I bought the only 4 in stock different colors, plum, silver and white. I threw my old, ill fitted, stretched out, some torn, safety pinned ones away. They were on sale and I got another purse that I like in a silver color for more formal attire. I now have that purse in Sage green, coral, white and cranberry and now in silver. I am using the cranberry one now it goes with my winter coat. It is hard to find purses this size, small! I went to kohls to use my gift cards from christmas and ended up using my kohls charge card to save an extra 15% from my already on sale items. And got a $20 gift rewards to be used on march 16th-22nd. I will just buy new underware with the $20. Then save my gift cards to go shopping when I reach my goal weight at jeffs suggestion. He is a good man. WE went to friends house for dinner tonight. I ate some chicken because I did not know how much they were going to serve of protein. They had bean soup with pieces of ham I think....too many carbs so am glad that I ate the chicken. Ate alot like 2 cups of fresh fruit(straw berries, blue berrries, cantelope, honey dew melon, kiwi, grapes, pineapple) and tabouli and a small bowl of soup. After dinner I then ate 3 pieces of chocolates....They were delicious! sigh that won't kill me! I will try to get up early and go to the farmers market, then we will go to chris for gumbo and then I am getting my hair colored tomorrow at 1pm till 4 at the latest and then go to the gym. jasons deli for dinner and then maybe a play, or a movie. IT should reach 60 degrees, rain on sunday. (43 days AF) Have a great weekend! bizi |

these bras have a little decoration which is a first for me! not sports bras but should hold up well. they are not as seamless as my other bras were. oh well. lets just say that I was tired of shopping for bras so took what worked with out thinking much. This is a vast improvement to what I was wearing! bizi decided to not go to the farmers market, lazy this morning and I did not sleep well last night I had 2 cups of coffee at our friends house. But I did read some of 2 days worth of newspapers. |
Got my hair colored and went to the gym and used the arc trainer for an hour, I went really fast for the last 2 minutes heart rate was up to 162bpm!
I was beat! Going to have dinner and go see a play. A comedy about someone who has a crappy job. My girl friend may go with us tonight. I must quit snacking on these smoky almonds! they are so good. yummy! I am hungry and hubby is out with a friend. I need to call him and let him know that I am back from the gym.(before I eat all of these almonds!) make it a great day. bizi |

Started today off with a pear and 2 cups of coffee.
Went to the diner for breakfast. Had 3 scrambled eggs with spinach and a side of brocolli and a side of black bean salsa that I put over the eggs. Delicious! This is what I usually eat for breakfast on sunday mornings which is really lunch by the time we get there. Hubby is going fishing today with a friend high today of 65 so it should be nice. I am reading the news paper, takes me forever and then will think about the rest of my day. Just finished a nother cup of coffee, I use half and half in it with a liquid stevia sweetener, carmel flavored yum! We used to use french vanilla creamer until I realized it had trans fat in it! Partially hydrogenated oils equals trans fat! And somewhere I heard that you could light it on fire...lol never tried that. Make it a great day. bizi |

That is alot of fat for one cup of coffee. Bet it is good though! I would still use my stevia.

Dinner tonight was beef spagetti whole wheat bow tie pasta, and a ceasar salad. It was good, I went easy on the pasta!
Went to planet fitness, Julie got there at 8 and I showed her around. She ended up signing up. yeah! She had taken a break from work to meet me. I think she will be working out at 3 am after the bar closes down. She is the manager at the tap room. After that I did an hour of cardio, the hardest that I have worked out so far...ie I sweat the most. 30 minutes on the arc trainer than 30 minutes on the tred mill: JOGGING for a bit then walking then jogging then walking. a5-6 mph jog then walked 3.5-4mph depending how tired I was. I did it! It did not hurt my neck! I will be able to jog a 5k that is 3.2 miles.... bizi |

Had a lebanese lunch today chicken schwarma and humus, tabouli and lentil rice. All very good!!!!!
(too many carbs though!) After work today I did not feel like cooking so asked hubby to go to the Blue Basil Vietnamese restaurant 3 blocks from our house! He agreed. He is a good man. He had PHO (pronounced "Fugh") beef steak noodle soup. and I had chicken lettuce wraps. I really enjoyed them and like the sauces kind of spicy and sweet. I liked the mango one as well. Topped the lettuce chicken wraps with shredded cabbage and carrots and cilantro they were very good. Our meal was only $27 including the tip. so that was reasonable! My morning client canceled, he is in the nursing home now...I will call him tomorrow to see if he still wants me to come see him there. He lives out of town about 40 minutes away so I always call to make sure that we are still on. His brother answered the phone when I called today and told me the news. Jeff will be working very late tomorrow so we will have separate dinners. I made an appointment to see a trainer at 7 for an hour hopefully no one else will sign on for the group lesson...then it would be just her and I. Since I have never really had a work out routine before I would like some direction/guidance/instruction. So am excited to hear what she has to say. This is included in our membership at the gym. I talked with a girl friend who I had not talked to in so long. She gave me some good advice. I started doing some of my taxes tonight. Felt good getting somethings done. It takes me a while to do them. Well I had better start making my way to bed time.... thanks for reading.... bizi |
I am doing something spontaneous this morning. In my in box mail there was a special on pedicures for $5 if you buy a foot care product. so this morning I am treating myself to a pedicure! Client canceled so have the extra time, taxes still need to be done but I am getting there!

Last night I met with the trainer at the gym. She demonstrated some abs exercises to do. I talked about wanting to jog the 10 k cajun cup again this year. She really did not have suggestions for that. Anna was nice and she invited me to do work outs with her which I may do.
Did my arc trainer for half an hour then tred mill where I walked and jogged a bit for another half an hour. I sweat so I know that I got a good work out. I don't think I like my blue nails, maybe I will get used to them! I picked out the color, it is a dark country blue. ate well today. shrimp over tabouli and a bowl of kale soup with turkey meatballs...it was very good. dinner was some sustainably farmed talapia and chili powder califlower good! IT was the best talapia we ever had, loved the texture! I picked it up at the health food store and will go back and pick up some more tomorrow if it is still on sale. pear for a snack tonight. Putting a pork roast in the crock pot tomorrow. carrots onions peppers etc. It is a 3 pound roast so it should feed us for several meals, will freeze half of it right away. Then we are going to a jazz singer concert: rena marie. She is an awesome singer from what we heard on you tube. WE were given tickets. WE are going with my friend susan. I have a full day of clients... thankful for my job! bizi I spoke with my dad today, he said that their dog cassie has a bad back leg. The vet doesn't know what to think... Got up early this morning(6am), could not sleep on my right shoulder, it was hurting, sleep on my right side all night. So got up , am on my 2nd cup of coffee, am sleepy.
The cat started crying for treats that my husband gives them in the morning so I shut her out of the back area so as to not wake up my hubby. The fan is on in the bedroom but still her crying gets to be loud and insistent. Hubby has had a splitting head ache the past couple of days, it was subsiding last night, perhaps it will be gone this morning. I hope so. Have a good day. am going to take a shower this morning and then put on the crock pot roast pork later, then read the paper, trying to do that more often now. My first client is at 10 and close by so I actually have time to do my taxes, at least some of them if so inclined. Today is day 50 of my 100 day challenge. bizi |
Well my morning was productive.
3 cups of coffee! I cleaned the cat fountain which takes forever! made and drank a protein kale and blueberry smoothie while reading the newspaper. Took a shower! And now am leaving to see my first client of the day. I hope to have a light lunch as the protein shake should keep me full. have a great day all! bizi |

Bought a bunch of talapia on sale. $7.99 for over a pound 2 meals! had pork roast stew for dinner, had my friend over for dinner. and then to the concert with a fabulous jazz singer rena marie awesome! was hungry so ate some pasta and a greek yogurt. should not have right before dinner. oh well. weighed inn this morning 150. hoping tomorrow to go canoeing with susan in the afternoon. IF she doesn't want to go then will go to the gym with jeff. there is another chamber music concert tomorrow night, will see if susan wants to see that. Her husbnd is gone until late tomorrow night. She is doing somewhat better. still anxious and fearful. I feel for her. bizi |
Had gumbo for lunch which was extra good today.
it is partly sunny today. Unfortunately my girl friend doesn't want to go canoeing with the even slight chance of running into alligators:( Oh well, I am very disappointing. But she is allowed her fears. I was trying to be brave and talk myself into canoeing with out jeff, who is much better at it than I. So we are going to go walking at a park by the campus. Divided the talapia into half and put them into the freezer. there is a concert tonight, wonder if she would want to go with us? I will ask her. Have a great day! We took a walk at a park and it was nice the weather was perfect.
Susan told me that she has had a bad experience there at lake martin. That they had been on a hike around the lake and ran right into one. It lunged at them and was about 10 feet away. yikes so no wonder her fear! She will not be going to the concert tonight. bizi |
