May time for a new thread!

For got to start a new thread!

143 this morning weight coming back down.
100 days today:)

after coming back home from the gym last night(10pm) I stayed on the computer and was up until 2 am. then woke up at 5 to go pee then back to bed rested until 8am now up.
that is 6 hours of sleep/rest. Not enough.
I am wondering if I am getting hypo.
I have been trying .5mg of klonipin and wonder if that is also taking its tole.

the carpenter guy comes this morning to fix the shed. Hope this really happens, can't have the painter do his job until he gets his done. I need to get some ivy off of the shed.
getting my hair colored this afternoon, every 4 weeks comes around rather quickly. But so does the gray and my vanity.
Going to make a spinach and fruit and protein powder smoothie for breakfast debating about a shower...feeling lazy.
I can't believe it is May 2nd already!

waves 05-02-2015 10:38 AM

May already... I had my freak out yesterday, which was Labor Day here. A double-whammy reminder that I am not working... sigh.

Congratulations on your 100 days without alcohol! :)

Your progress is impressive.

Re: suspected hyponess/Klonopin reduction --

Based on my own experience with tapering, an increase in energy, even some slightly unpleasant over-excitation, is normal when reducing a benzo. These kinds of symptoms abate as the body gets used to the lower dosage. These symptoms are not harmful per se, provided they are relatively mild.

However, Bizi, you are right to be cautious. If the "up" sensation you have gets worse, worrisome, or feels in any way problematic for you, do not hesitate to call your psychiatrist. You can ask if you might have 0.25's and a slower reduction program. You can just say you'd feel more comfortable going more slowly, and hopefully she wouldn't object.

bizi 05-02-2015 11:05 AM

thanks waves.
She said go to .75mg I tried .5mg and had 3 good nights of sleep.
last night not great. so I will keep an eye on that and may go back up to .75 if not any better. I don't take it during the day. Just a night dose.
Have a great weekend!

May already, such a long winter!
You sound good Bizi, wish I saw 148 again......crappy thyroid really messing with me and the cortisol stuff.

Not much new, I'm just thawing out. Our daffodils just bloomed this week, we finally got out of the frosty nights and 40's-50's days. Can't plant the garden yet because of frost threats in the mountains. But, buy the end of the month I can.

bizi 05-02-2015 05:01 PM

thank you friends!
nice to see you di, wondered if you had thawed out yet.
it is 80 degrees here today partly cloudy.
The carpenter did not come he had to pick up his kids...he texted me this morning while I was asleep. Oh well it will get done.
Called my mother in law and we talked for an hour. She sounded good. Looking forward to her son's call. The kentucky Derby is today and he lives in lexington and was going to place a bet for her. She bet on a horse whose jockeys name is elvis and she is such an elvis fan that she bet on him even though his odds are like 50:1.
I did take a shower today and just came back from my hair appointment. I am to be over to Susans at 6:30 for dinner. I wonder what is for dinner, I am bringing some pre cut up fruit(kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, and I think some melon).
Hoping that they will want to walk after dinner. I guess I should wear walking shoes instead of sandals then...
I just drank another cup of coffee to get a pick me up. I was so relaxed at the beauty shop that I almost dozed off several times.
JEff won't be home until sometime tomorrow. I will try to get to bed at a decent time tonight...try is the key word here.
Just glanced at the paper this morning...Hoping that Baltimore will settle down now that the officers involved were arrested.
I bought a new light for me kit, it had a short in the wiring somewhere.
It is a clamp on one that I attach to the handle of my bag to illuminate my clients feet. There is a heavy duty extension cord that had kind of rusted over the years. The new light had a little bit smaller metal shade so I used the old one and cleaned it up a bit and it fit so that was good. I plugged it in and seemed to work fine duct taped the extra cord from the light to the extension cord so that there is not any tension on the light cord if that makes sense. anyway it fit into my container a bit tight could not duct tape everything exactly the same so it fits differently in the foot bath tub. It fits that is what matters.
I heard today that a Kenyan man won the mini 500 a half marathon running in an hour! that is 13.2 miles in an hour!
How is that possible?
I need to look that up.
bizi

looked, my cousin ran it in 1hour 30 minutes!
so I guess it is possible!
WOW impressive!

waves 05-02-2015 08:39 PM

Great report, Bizi.

I loved this part. Right up there with Mari's meditative pool floating. :)

Well, twelve miles in an hour would be one mile in 5 minutes. So I had Excel do the exact arithmetic. 13.2 miles in an hour would be one mile every 4.5 minutes. Holding out for thirteen miles at that speed is really impressive!

another 5 hours of sleep...not enough. think I will go back to my original dose of 1mg of klonipin at bed time. Too many days of not enough sleep. Jeff called he is on his way back home he will be here in a couple of hours. I am very hungry, maybe go get a bite to eat. He said to eat with out him.
I read the entire paper, 3 hours, am a slow reader. 3 cups of coffee and still in my jammies.
I will get dressed and get some food, nothing in the house really. I should go shopping for food, think I will wait for jeff to help me shop. I really want to do some outside work this afternoon. My patio screams its in need of attention. I think I will go to the support group meeting tonight at 6, hoping that my girl friend will go as well. She continues to not be doing well. she is training to run the cashier at a nursery, floral store this after noon. maybe I will pop in and say hello. She made a delicious quiche for dinner last night bacon and swiss. I don't normally eat bacon but once in a while won't kill me! I stayed and talked to her giving her advice and support. She is so lost in all of this. I really want to help.
anyway. She is starting to panic...her husband leaves to go out of town for 5 weeks and will leave her alone with her teenage daughter. He leaves in a few weeks I think.
happy sunday to all of you!

I will repost this in my thread opps!

Jeff came home from his gig and he had a good time.
We had a large bush(well actually it was 3 bushes that grew together and were very large all around and under encircling the magnolia tree)They were at least 5 feet tall and 10 feet round at least.
Had was the key word.
They had become infected with a disease. so we cut them all the way back to about 6 inches or so off of the ground. Jeff is going to get an fungicide to spray the area and to spray another indian hawthorne bush that is starting to have signs of the disease somewhat away from these bushes. It only took an hour but both of us are tired and the lopers are somewhat stiff to use. My hands hurt. We also raked all of the dead leaves that we could never get to because they were inside of the bushes. So it looks really barren. WE hauled it all to the side of the road...who knows when they will pick it all up. We already have a big pile from when our yard man trimmed back the bushes in the back yard, last week that they never picked up even though we called and they said they would....sigh
Went to the all seasons nursery where my friend susan started a part time job there. So I wanted to stop by and see her, she was just coming in as I was looking around and gave her a hug.
I bought a couple of hanging plants today pretty foliage no flowers. Wanted some shade loving plants so the hanging ones are sweet potato ivys one light lime green and the other is dark green. Since they are hanging right at the edge of the patio This is the only plant that said it could tolerate both full sun and full shade!
The perfect plant!
Maybe go to home depot and look for impatients to go in the hanging pots, this week. Looking for some color.
Any way I am going to go to the support group meeting at 6pm.
Hoping that susan will want to go.
Just got off the phone with her, she has not decided if she is going or not. I told her maybe I will see you or maybe I won't.
Oh well.
I better get off of here.

waves 05-03-2015 08:20 PM

Hehe, Bizi, then I will repost back to you here. ;)

Bizi,

You guys were certainly busy today! I hope the spray works to keep other bushes from dying. Fungi are very difficult.

I'm glad Jeff is back so you're not home alone any more -- I know you hate that. It was sweet of you to go by and see your friend at her new job.

Just got back from support group meeting. It went well.
The leader has a bit of a time interjecting comments all of the time so we get behind sharing.
I said that I was doing well.
When ever I say that out loud I question myself. since I have not been sleeping well these past few nights I think that I am running hypo.
So I will for sure to take the full 1mg of klonipin to see if I sleep better tonight.
Have been on the computer a lot of the weekend.
Stopped by whole foods and bought a small bowl of a spicy tuna dish, and came home to eat it. Very good. And it only cost me $3.50, they weigh the hot food bar items. Jeff is at a friends house and they are cooking/BBQ for dinner and having a couple of beers. He said he would not be late.

Bizi,

Some leaders are talkative that way. Some are better at listening and encouraging others to talk.

The regular dose of Klonopin should help you.

====
(When I try to lower Klonopin I do it much much slowly than your doc recommended.)

I have two Whole Foods relatively close to me:
A. small / 7 miles but requires major highway and traffic combustion to get to it.
B. large and under construction to be huge / 8 miles and a reasonable drive if I am already going that direction (rarely).

I go as infrequently as possible because I dislike the CEO of WF.
He is upfront about his politics -- which are 100% opposite of mine.
(It might be different if he were quiet and not trying to influence elections.)

So I go if I need something that I cannot purchase online or at my regular stores.

>> I do have an upscale / gourmet market that I go to when I have the money or the needs.
>> And i have access to a good place for fruits and veggies that I pick up when I am going that direction.

It seems that your lunch places are nearby --- that is very nice.:hug::hug:

waves 05-04-2015 03:00 AM

I hear you about the questioning, Bizi. Happens to me too.

You are indeed doing well. The Klonopin and maybe bits of agitation are only tiny glitches in a very positive big picture. :)

bizi 05-04-2015 09:03 AM

I slept great last night so don't know if that was because I was so tired or if it was from the increased klonipin. I got a good 7 hours of sleep.

Bizi,

time will tell, re: the klonopin and sleep. After the overly enthusiastic reduction, I'd probably stay at your old dose for several days before attempting any new maneuvers. But I am really glad you got a good night's sleep regardless of the cause.

down to 141 this morning again http://assets3.sparkpeople.com/asset...ticons/e30.gif
slept until 7 am so that is 6 1/2 hours sleep, but I feel really rested. (I will stick to the 1 mg of klonipin.)
Last night at the gym, it was harder...did not run as long took me longer to cool down, sweat quite a bit. ruined my t shirt because the hair color just ran down my shirt with the sweat. sigh
maybe it will come out?
4.76 miles one hour, 5k=40:30, total 5 miles 65 minutes.
I know in my head that I will have ups and down. Don't know why it was harder tonight. At least my toe did not hurt.
Jeff and I laid down after work and took a nap got up at 6;30 pm and made a quick dinner of teryaki ginger salmon and frozen organic mixed veggies, squash, carrots and peppers and onions. Never tried that mix before...was good!
Then after dinner I called and talked to my friend susan, she was all worried about her new job, she has only been there 3 weeks and felt horrible at work yesterday. She was asking questions and could not make decisions and the other employees seem frustrated with her. She came home afraid she was going to get fired. I supported her , she sent a text to her manager so she would have some piece of mine and perhaps sleep tonight, her boss called her back(half an hour later) and they talked. She felt she was doing well and not did not expect her to function like the experienced employees. whew. so glad that she called. Maybe my friend slept last night???? (She has been getting only 4-5 hours of sleep and is sleep deprived and gets up ruminating. I told her about luvox...she is looking for a new pdoc. She also believes that it is her perimenopausal that is contributing to her depression, cant be seen for another 3 weeks by her gyn to do some hormone testing.)
So I did not get to the gym until later and home later. I know that you are not supposed to exercise with in a couple of hours of sleeping. lights out was at 1230.
I am sore this morning. a good kind of sore.
It is a drag that I ruined a t shirt...I should of know better. I was going to wear a black one....sigh.
oh well.
Have a good day!
I need to take a shower this morning, and read the news paper.

waves 05-05-2015 10:55 AM

When I ran/jogged, I found that some days I just put out less. Never figured out the why, it seemed sort of random. At that time I knew a guy who ran trails weekly (long ones, like 50-60 km total). He told me it's normal to have day with more stamina and days with less. He was extremely fit, had been doing that for years, and had days when he couldn't do the longer ones, or chose a shorter second trail because he got tired sooner.

Point is: your fitness level is going up steadily -- the days when you perform less are not an indication of your overall fitness, and still contribute to making you more fit.

====
It's great that your weight went back down. :) Love when that happens. :D

I wish your friend well, too.

Thanks waves and the difference in my times was really not that much slower.
Come on...am I really going to get upset over 30 seconds or .05 tenths of a mile? 4.76mph vs. 4.81 mph....
There is a big difference between walking out side and on a tred mill.
we walked in the neighbor hood a couple of miles and it felt like forever!
Ate a good dinner, sauteed talapia with lemon pepper and bits of red pepper. sauteed spinach( a bag full cooks down to 2 servings) in butter and garlic. some quinoa tabouli and blueberries, 2 dark chocolate kisses for desert. I had had a large handful of almonds before dinner because I was so hungry, lunch had been at 11;30.

I am upset with my lack of progress tonight.
I almost quit.
Key word here being almost.
I had decreasing energy.
I jogged 3 miles in 40 minutes.
then could not keep up the 6:1 ratio at all. my left hip was bothering me too. so just walked some minute or two jogged a couple minutes nothing for sure...I just did not have it in me. then just walked for a long time.
finished 4.9 miles in 70 minutes so I figuered out how much more I need to go for a 10K...1.5 miles...I could do that.
So I finished the 6.4 miles in 90 minutes 10K (one minute less than the time from last years cajun cup 10k).
Oh well at least I did not quit!
I am really bummed about this.:(

One not so time does not have to affect your feelings about your hard work.

Maybe you just bent or stretched weird at some point didn't even realize and you'll be fine in a few days, but take it kind of easy running, until it feels better. One thought... you could add upper body work to keep your cardio level up, while the hip recovers.

Oh dear. :( Well, try not to get too far ahead of yourself now. Just give the hip a rest as you say, and see how you feel. Often people have bad injuries because they ignore pain when it's still mild, and the injury is stilll minor. It seems to me you are being attentive and careful, and this should pay off. ;)

There is still discomfort when simply walking.I need to research the different stretches that are supposed to help with this kind of injury.
ITB syndrome
PSOAS stretches
illio-psoas strain
piriformus pigeon stretch,
straddle stretch
core strengthening and strength training

I have a PT friend will ask her if she can help.

Oh dear. Yes, do please ask your PT friend. With discomfort walking, it really would be best to consult a professional. :o :hug:

FYI....

It might be good to take an anti-inflammatory, but that is only advisable for some types of injury.

For muscle injuries, I've read that taking anti-inflammatories can actually slow healing because it increases bleeding in the areas of rupture, so maybe choose acetaminophen if you need to take something, since you aren't sure what this is.

Hubby had a terrible morning yesterday.
A lose pitbull attacked our neighbors cat and swung him vigorously (he was viserated)eventually killing him Jeff ran up to the dog and got behind him and tried to kick and hit him and get him to drop the cat he wouldn't so jeff choked his collar until he went unconscious. Jeff hurt his hand in the process and WAS VERY LUCKY that the dog did not turn on him.
The owner drove up and found the dog breathing very hard and took him to a vet near by. Don't know if he lived or not. the state statute says you have the right to kill a dog that is in the active process of killing.
Jeff was covered in blood. He thought he killed him. The cat was still alive and dragged himself to the edge of the street and died there, Jeff cried.
I felt so bad for him. The cat was a lovely cat that our neighbors had adopted, was a stray. Was a friendly kitty. Jeff came home and promptly went to our cats picked one up and said this is why you will always be an indoor cat!
Sad day....
Jeff was brave in doing this, he just feels bad for not saving the cat.
