Hey everyone, It finally looks like its spring again here.

Glad that you are feeling better enjoy derricks cooking what did he fix?
Jeff cooked us scrambled eggs, we were not quite sure when we are eating over at pauls he is cooking on the grill kabobs. he is celebrating lent being over because he gives up drinking for lent. so he performed 4 masses where he played his trumpet. so he got home around noon and started drinking. I hope he is not already drunk when we get there. He is episcopal.
Rob and his wife terry will be there and his colleague may come later. Jeff put together a big fruit salad with fresh organic strawberries, blue berries, raspberries and pineapple. It looks very good!
happy easter y,all...to those who celebrate.

lots of love today.

Derrick made hamburger helper, cheeseburger kind. We had hawaiin rolls,
salad with hamburger and sausage, his dad and Dan both loved that.

He made me some bananas and apples, and his dad, dan and him apple,
grapes and banana kabobs. There were a couple other things, not sure
what all.

Yes, everyone enjoyed the food.

Enough left for leftovers too. So lots of food for the next day or two.

We are chilling pretty much, I take him home tomorrow.

And we will shop for him some keto foods.

Ugh, I am out of my depth with that.

Yes, I was so proud of him at the o'charlies steak house tonight
he had a steak and chicken strips, and broccoli, salad.

His favorite is 2 baked potatoes. But not even one. He even told me
I could get the piece of pie.

Donna:grouphug::hug::hug:

We both had a good meal, I got a salad, and mac and cheese. I love
the baked potatoes but I just couldn't do that to him today.

We got his YMCA membership. And groceries for keto diet.

Okay I had tried to send an email to the supervisor over the person who
does Derrick's program last week. When I got sick. It wouldn't go, because
it didn't like my email. It didn't sound real good. So I let it go.

Last night I started over and got a real good email going, and sent it correctly.
I received a reply she is looking into things. I remembered some more things
tonight I've been wondering about. But don't bother asking the girl who
runs his program because it just gets brushed off. So tonight I sent yet another
email asking about that stuff. Just because it would really help his health
and keep depression away.

good for you for figuring out the computer emailing. you are a great mom,
always figuring out to help best help your family.

Dmom3005 04-09-2021 12:26 PM

thanks Bizi

Lots of the reason I can do this is because I am encouraged and praised by you ladies which I really appreciate.

I'm so glad I sent that email last night. I think when things work out he will
get the cooking classes soon. Its only been I think 2 years since we started
working to get this. Just sent the right person a request. The other two classes
aren't going on right now. I also heard his VOc. reh. goals were changed one is
something I love. His job coach is going to help with exercise and walking or
maybe take him to the YMCA once a week. This will help so much.

Of course I got a email, that was kind of negative from his main person that
says, because of staffing we can't do 3 times a week. No one was asking her
to. I said, I was working to find a way too. I was hoping she would help
maybe 1 or maybe at some point 2 a week. But she came back negative
again. Then said, I know the girl that comes does his grocery shopping I'll see
if maybe they can add this. Well I know he needs to concentrate on the grocery shopping if necessary so if they can't I'm fine with that. So I told her.

Donna

bizi 04-10-2021 08:48 PM

I hope the cooking classes come out ok, 3x a week if that is what you are talking about?
bizi

Dmom3005 04-11-2021 01:23 PM

Sorry

The cooking class would be one time a week.

I'm hoping he can go to the YMCA and exercise three times a week. I heard
from his job coach that she will try to see if he will go with her 1 time
a week since they are going to concentrate on his health. THey were
going to do walks and things. So that is good.

He has a provider that does his grocery shopping with him, so hopefully
they can get some time in at the YMCA also. Then I am working on getting
him some equipment to start some things at home.

And when my schedule slows down I'll try to make sure i take him once
a week also.

Dmom3005 04-14-2021 05:31 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm still working at what seems like 100 miles an hour even in my own
home. I go from one meeting to another. I can sure do more meetings
this way. But I need them to realize they need to stop just setting them
up and thinking I don't need consulted first. Ugh. I can't even begin
to count the number of cases I've had. I'd say at least two a day for the
last two weeks, sometimes three a day. And then today I had one, and
then a full day Inservice. And tomorrow I just have what is called a Patins
workshop, which I'm doing what if I were there in person I love the most
about my job. I'm the exhibitor person. But I'm doing in online tomorrow.
For about 7 or 8 hours, and sure hoping I can do a couple of the meetings
in between also. I will be good.

Then Friday a parent I've been trying to work with for probably a couple
of months and I have a meeting with the psychologist finally. And then
I have a case conference with a team, for an emergency situation.
Now I'm hoping I don't get another add for another one after that tomorrow.

Its not something that would surprise me though. It seems to be par for course right now. I got another new case this afternoon.

Donna

Dmom3005 04-14-2021 05:38 PM

now about Derrick and his issues. I will hopefully get some time with
him next week to straighten this stuff out. He goes to the neuro tomorrow.
Not sure I like the fact that he is telling me he has to cross the highway to get to the ymca. So I'll have to look into that. I honestly don't think he should have
to but we will see. I just need to go look at what is going on. So I will know.

I also need soon to remind him to get his bike out and ride it. He has a good area too ride it close to his house. I got a email from the company that does
his services today. And I guess soon we will do a bi-weekly call. I am okay with
this just waiting till about the first of may so my schedule slows down. But then its okay with me. THey will take him to the doctor. But they want to make the appointments, but I had made one so they can either keep it or cancel it and change it. That part is fine with me. Heehee,

We are just waiting on the rest of the set up of the cooking, its ready except for the starting of it.

Donna

bizi 04-14-2021 11:00 PM

What services for Derrick? I am a bit confused by this post.
sorry
bizi

Dmom3005 04-15-2021 03:17 PM

I think I was rambling. Busy days do that sometimes.

1. The ymca is something I set up.
2. He has a provider to help get his food, and things.
3. His job coach is working on his health right now. While we wait on
plastic surgery
4. He went to doctor today. He was mad that he still hasn't gotten his
vaccine. Well its just not worked in my schedule. But I updated his
provider. She set him one up and they are taking him. Works better.
5. Working on getting cooking classes set up.
6 His behavior therapist.

I think I got it all. Now if we would just get the surgeon to call.

Heehee

Brrrrr, Someone send Indiana the warmer weather.

Derrick and I have had two really nice days. Yesterday we went to the
mall and did some walking and shopping. And had a steak at O'charleys.

Today we went garage shopping and took the dogs. And had lots of fun,
Derrick's dog Dobey is now ready to go again sometime. He really enjoyed
going to the sales. And then we went to a park and Derrick took both dogs
for a walk. Then brought Jake back, and took Dobey for another walk. So
he got a really nice long walk.

We have what is called ALPS weekend for Special Olympics workshop this
weekend. So Derrick is looking forward to it.

Donna

Dmom3005 04-27-2021 11:58 AM

I spent most of last week with Derrick, and I just came home. So it was
an good week and weekend. We did what was called Athletes leadership
program on Saturday and Sunday. And he and I walked. And he walked
both dogs on Friday before the weekend.

We then had a good Monday after my workshop. It was a good few days.
We will do more days later in May.

You are a great mother,

and glad that you get to spend
so much time with him.
great you are walking with him great exercise!!!
I hope you have a great rest of the week.

When is the special Olympics? What will derrick do there?

Dmom3005 04-28-2021 11:29 AM

Derrick isn't doing special olympics this summer. He would have done
bowling. But we feel his need for surgery and then to get a job was
first. So he will join them in the fall.

He made the choice because he didn't know also if his partner was bowling
this summer either. Donna

bizi 04-29-2021 08:07 PM

Derrick has a significant other? Is that what you mean by partner?
biz

Dmom3005 04-30-2021 07:03 PM

No he he bowls on a doubles team during summer games.
So he wouldn't be able to bowl if his doubles teammate isn't bowling.

Dmom3005 05-01-2021 05:26 PM

Derrick is 29 he will be 30 on June 15. Most of the time he is very easy
going. He does have anxiety and does at times get angry but he can
at times get through it fast.

Donna

bizi 05-01-2021 10:47 PM

oh I thought he was younger than that!
how is dan and how is dale?
bizi

Dmom3005 05-02-2021 03:00 PM

Dan is doing pretty good.

Dale is going to a cardiologist on Tuesday, he was not able to have
a stress test on TUesday last week. And they found some problems.

They told him having the stress test wouldn't help. So he is going to
a cardiologist on Tuesday. They moved him up from the first week
of June. He isn't sure what is going on. They really scared him we.

I'm hoping my cold is better, to the point I can go with him.

Donna

bizi 05-02-2021 06:53 PM

donna, I hate to say this but maybe you need to get a covid test.
(((((HUGS)))))
bizi

Dmom3005 05-02-2021 08:00 PM

If I hadn't gotten better I would have. But its a plain old cold.

I can tell because its runny nose, and cough. And its pretty much
a cough now. And its partly just my asthma acting up now.

No fever or anything else.

If it gets worse I'll get one, but we will see.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

Dmom3005 05-05-2021 04:27 PM

Dale has to have a angiogram I think it is. On May 26th.

I will be taking him. And he might have to stay overnight, it will depend
on many things. Because even though we have to be there very early
the time period can't be determined ahead of time. Because of course
emergencies and other things take precedence.

So we will do fine with that.

I am supposed to have the 2nd covid vaccination the next day and I'm
trying to figure out if I need to change the date. I can't figure out how
to find that phone number. So I'm figuring it out.

I don't think you know about bipolar 2. you have depression, anxiety and irritability and sleep problems.. Of the mental illnesses bipolar 2 has the most suicides.
there are no magical pills. I can't tell you how many I tried

Dmom3005 05-06-2021 08:43 PM

Bobby

I don't know which Bi-polar Dan has. I just meant maybe you could
look at it like the depression in the morning was to take your meds.

So you would have a reason for it. I realize its not because of that
it just was to give a reason. Its not concreate.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 05-07-2021 08:58 AM

i can be depressed all day. I think you owe t to your son to read up extensively on bipolar to help him and not to assume things. I think he has bipolar 1.
fondly
bobby

bizi 05-07-2021 03:30 PM

I think Dan has bipolar 1 also. so do I.
I am RARELY every down or depressed.
I think it is situational depression.
The situation is the fact that I can't seem to quit drinking and I have gained so much weight I look so obese in my scrubs.
I would hate to buy all new scrubs.I just have to learn how to not drink so much. and make better food choices. We went to a brewery and played trivia.
after we came home I was a bit peckish. So I made myself an egg sandwich on daves killer bread which is delicious 2 eggs scrambled and mayo.
It was very good but I think I would have been satisfied with a one egg
and one slice of bread cut into half.
any way.
such is life.
