Talking Got a solution for you!

First off, great post!!

Before you apply your foundation, you should apply something called a PRIMER. This product glides over your skin, giving it a matte finish and allows your foundation something to adhere to. Also, when you first see any sweat or oil appear, use OIL BLOTTING PAPERS. They are cheap (can find a pack of 50 sheets at any drug store for a few bucks) Press them onto your face and they will absorb any oil or sweat and not remove any make-up

Hope these work for you (they do wonders for me!)

Vanna

Thanks for that info, Vanna. you'd think they'd give the primer a nicer name, sounds like we're painting our house, lol.

Will definitely look into those.

Thanks to everyone who shared info on this, too. It's good to have a few different options to choose from.

I've warned my husband that next payday the bank balance will decrease VERY rapidly when I hit the make-up departments!

Hi Cake,

I started wearing make-up about a year ago (I seemed to get bad spots when I developed RSD so had to use it) and I always had the same issues as you with most foundations. One of my mums friends recommended a mineral foundation by MAC though and it works really well. It's in a small tub and it goes on like a powder so it doesn't make your face as sweaty/greasy and stays on well when you get really hot. It's a little bit expensiver then some of the liquid foundations but it works well for me (and my mum also).

I hope you find something that works and get to feeling better soon!

Alison.

Default Hi Cake,

You aren't very old so powder would work for you. Powder for older people seem to cake up in the wrinkles and make them look older. I heard that on TV and I have noticed it's true for me so I stay away from the powders.

Also on the Avon, ask for samples. They will give you some to try the foundations out. I haven't found any Avon makeup that last or looks good. My Avon dealer says the same. It just seems to be missing something that works good. They also are buying cheaper stuff these days and their products aren't as good. I grew up with Avon and I do still buy from them occasionally. I ordered some watches for the kids for Christmas from Avon. Even their jewelry isn't made as good. I have several pieces that have broken in no time at all. My Avon lady says they are getting their clothes from a cheaper place also and the sizes aren't right and they don't look as good. I do have some Avon clothes here but I have sent many of them back due to them being cheapmade.

Back to the makeup though, ask for samples of it if you want to try it.

You might also go to Kohls, I believe they have makeup ladies that help you pick the makeup that works for you.

Default my fabulous favourite

My dry skin became an combination-oil slick when I got CRPS too. For the last six months I've been wearing Diorskin Nude Glow. It costs an arm and a leg ($47 CAD), but it's the only foundation (yes I've tried MAC and Makeup Forever) that stays on all day and looks fabulous all day long. A little goes a long way. It's medium to full coverage and buildible, has a glow but no sheen so you won't shine. I top it off with a dusting of my lifesaving MAC Blot Powder, designed to suck up oil. You can get a sample from the Dior counter to try.
Good luck

My daughter uses Bare Minerals and loves it. She never reapplies her make up. She is 15 so she has the teen age oily skin as well as the CRPS sweaty skin. She has some of the previous mentioned Mabelline long lasting foundations as well that she uses on occasion under the bare minerals during the hot summer days or when she is in a flare up and her face is like on oil slick.
