Default Good Thread

Love purchasing new towels, pillows & sheets. Such a great feeling since us patients use the bed so much. I too have issues with sheets, the burning, prickly, heat issues. Posted above for Mike about bamboo sheets.

Sometimes I have them put on silk, then cotton, then sateen. Can no longer tolerate flannel. Its always a game of what is going to be kind to me today. Have found the sateen sheet still has enough cotton in it for absorbtion with the sateen luxurious, silky soft feel. Wash in cold water though as not to strip the fibers. eBay carries Ralph Lauren sateen sheets at affordable & discontinued prices.

bassman...

Of course you thought "fishing pole"! My husband and I have a bass charter business. What else is bamboo good for?

Just a note,
You can buy "trimmers" for the pills.

I had one made by Remington. Wifey has it now. Oh well.
But, I'm sure Amazon, or a dept. store of some sort would have them.

They're like a big norelco circular razor, and you just run it over the fabric (of any kind),
and it trims those little pills off!

Great!

tempur-pedic are the best sheets i have found so far but they do cost a lot. i have 2 sets of the 420count egypt cotton that feels like 600count. these feel twice as soft as the top brand i bought at walmart. i bought these because i have an adjustable bed and i dont like the sheets wrinkling or coming up in the corners. these sheets have built in straps to stay in the corner and not come up. i have ordered another set of the pima cotton, i think its 320count to see if i can tollerate the feel. they are about 70bucks cheaper than the 420count. i was told from several crps people to stay above 600count. some brands lie about their count to compete against better sheets so beware of that. another company makes sheets with silver in them which helps with temperature and odor and has corner straps but costs even more than temperpedic so i did not get them. if it did not matter about the corner straps to me , i would go with 1000count sheets from overstock.com as they would cost at least half of what i paid.

some bamboo sheets are very cool but they cost 300 a set.

i have to change sheets at least 3 times a week due to sweating from crps2 so i did not care about cost since i am bed bound almost 24 hours per day.
