Hi everyone,
I'm not usually a whiner, but yesterday was really a rough one for me. My condition started in my left hand and (forearm July 2009) from two failed surgery to place plates and screws in my ulnar bone, and thumb. The last surgery being Feb 2010 (thumb). Moving ahead a bit, yesterday morning I went for a walk, four miles in total. Came back home everything seen find. Later that day I had some things to do that keep me walking for quite a while. Last night I was awaken to the worse cramps in my left foot ever. My toes were spasming so bad that my son had to pry apart the large toe from the second toe. He held it like that until it stopped, at the same time my right shin muscle was tightening up as well. There was no burning, no swelling just bone crushing pain and spasms. He quickly got one of the Savella pills for me to take. Before the medicine took hold. I had at least three or four more bouts of spasms. This morning it's not so bad, but I have this weird kind of tightness in m left foot like it will start spasming at any minute. Also I keep getting these cramps like they kind you get when you are about to have your period, or just starting to go into labor. Funny thing is I don't have a uterus any longer, but I went to the bathroom to make sure I wasn't having my period. Please help has it spread? |

Hi Lefty, Sometimes bananas help with leg cramps and such. They are great sources of potassium. I have to keep them on hand in the winter to keep cramps away. This is just a suggestion, but maybe it will help you a little bit. Feel better, Lisa

If you live where it is 100 + degrees you need to drink gallons for water to stop the cramping in the middle of the night. Your muscles need the water during the day so at night you don't get those really painful muscles spasms. And yes bananas help as well. Hope this helps. |
