I thought I would give a bit of an update even though I'm not barely finished with all the work the dentist wants to do.
That first procedure - Went fine - BUT I was awake the whole time. He gave me 3 Lorazepams and 1 other pill (don't remember already). I was relaxed but awake - they couldn't believe it. Then the doc upped some kind of block shot they use for fibromyalgia patients. So as far as feeling any pain, I didn't but slept for the next 3 days. Now tomorrow they are doing a surgical procedure on the upper left side of my mouth. We talked about IV sedation, but it's $400 and insurance doesn't cover it. So they are prescribing pills, but I haven't heard from them yet about what they are. He just said he knew it would have to be more than the first time. So we'll wait and see. It may be the last one for this year due to insurance, but who knows. Just thought it was rude of me to ask questions and not give any answers. Thanks and hope you all had happy Easter / Passover. I'm glad that the Dentist is doing all he can to help you get through the work it sounds like he is trying to keep it as painless as possible. I hope it continues to go ok with out the RSD spreading.
I just had a surgery yesterday and they couldn't do a block and so far I am doing fine but they haven't turned the machine on and I just read the book on the VNS and it's possible it can cause nerve pain. I guess I shouldn't be reading the book but they gave it to me at the hospital. I think sometimes the less I know the better off I am. LOL Back to you, just keep up your faith and believe that you will do ok with the dental work. Sometimes we just don't have a choice on dental or surgical work, even with RSD, we just can't always say no to these procedures. Keep us up on how you are doing. Ada |

Follow up...It is now 5/25/07 and I haven't had much of a chance to log on and after I read a lot here, I always feel that I need to pray at lot before I can get back on. You're all such nice people and I feel so badly that you suffer so much.
Well to me...I did have the second periodontal workup and then my front tooth filled at my regular dentist and man I think I'm finished; missing tooth or not! I have had a couple of weeks of burning up (like hot flashes) and I just sweat, plus high blood pressure. Don't know WHY??? I had an ekg due to some chest pain and then a stress test. Haven't gotten the results yet, but I didn't have to have the second set of films made, so I should be okay. So I guess I'm a mess, ha, ha, I suppose it could be medicine; the rsd, exhaustion, who knows. I'm still on my feet so I can't complain. Much love and peace to you all, Cathy ![]() |
