Hi Guys,
![]() I know this is a small issue in the big scheme of things, but I thought I'd ask anyway... I'm wondering if any of you have used Proactive or other skincreams/products for skin issues that are caused by your tablets? I take MS Contin (among other things) and have been this dose of it for about a year, but have spent the past 6-7 years of my RSD on either MS Contin or Oxycontin. On smaller doses of MS Contin, my skin wasn't an issue, but now I'm on 80mg a day, I have a new spot/blemish appearing nearly every day. ![]() I know medication-caused skin problems don't always respond the same way as "normal" skin problems do, but for those who've had this issue as well, did Proactive or other products help clear your skin up? Can anyone recommend anything that might help? It's kind of ironic that I had perfect skin as a teenager, but now have teenager skin in my 30's ![]() Thanks guys xxxx

Hi Cake, I have always had skin problems until a few years ago. I now use Philosophy products and a Buff Puff. The cleanser is called Purity Made Simple, and they have a really good moisturizer called When Hope is Not Enough. I have come to love these products. The cleanser is mild enough that it will even take off eye make-up and not burn the eyes. This is not something that is frivolous, anything that we can do to make us feel better is good for us. Hope you are having a good night, Lisa

There is another product that I use-Neutragena 'Acne on the Spot' The sore red dots that pop up hurt, and the cream dries them up. I also use a mild wash called Purpose that doesn't irritate the skin. Cake, I think of you all the time. How are you? I can't even fathom what you are going thru. One of my best friends' son died when someone ran a red light. It's been 3 years now and we can't talk without crying. I was close to him too. Just a couple years older than my only daughter. Please PM me if you feel comfortable. Please give my love to your children and husband. Your friend, loretta |

Thanks for the info and suggestions. I'll look into those.
Loretta, thanks for your support. We're still struggling, it still hits us hard every day and the kids (well, all of us) still have many trauma issues and anxieties, as well as dealing with the huge grief. Today is a tough day- as well as it being the 8 month anniversary of the accident (and tomorrow being the 8 month ann of losing Olivia), it's also Fathers Day today. As you can imagine, it's very hard to celebrate being a parent when you have one less child in your arms. ![]() xxxxx

Hi.
My daughters doctor has told her to use the yellow dial soap and an acne cream like oxy 10 or something like that. The antibacterial soap is one of the best things to use. Also, try witch hazel...that is an old remedy. Good to see you back. ((((((hugs))))) Sandy Quote:

Hi Kate,
I hope you are doing well. I've been thinking of you and your family lots lately. I also have skin issues like you. Mine are probably caused by hormones i'm guessing (i'm 15) though my Doctor did say the oral Ketamine I am on can cause skin problems also. I use Liz Earle naturally active skin care. It's a really good moisturiser and helps rehydrate my skin and get rid of any acne I may have. I use it once a day mainly (it's recommended to use twice though) and you can definitiely tell when I haven't used it as my skin will go horrible! I'm not sure if it's available in Australia though I do know they have a website and will ship over to other countries outside the UK/US if not. The product isn't expensive either - think it was £20 when I got it but it lasts months! I hope you find something that works ![]() Alison. PS - I used to read your blog all the time and miss it. I'd be happy if you could PM me the details so I could access it! Thanks ![]()
