I just wanted to say hello before the weekend. It's been so cold here and icy. I am coming down with another cold. I am hoping to be able to go to the doctors on Monday to get some help with this cold. I have not been able to get better with this infection since December. I think my doctor will change my antibiotic to something different. I have only been off my antibiotic for a week and I am down again. I hope everyone has a pain free weekend. When I have a infection it always flares up my RSD. It hasn't been too bad lately so hopefully it won't. Take Care

I've Had Some Flu, Mixed With A Sinus Infection And Ending With A Sinusitis, For A Month, So I Feel Your Pain. I Hope You Feel Better Soon. I Had So Much Coughing, It Did Get My Rsd Going. It Is Nice To Be Back To What I Refer To As My 'normal' Pain.
Keep Warm ... It Is 20s Here Today. Joan |

have you ever tried those EmerGenC packets in the health aisles?
whenever we get a cold or if a family member is sick we take these vit C packets. just be sure no interaction s with your meds. I'll get a link - I searched for images so you can click on the site you prefer for info and see what the packaging looks like. they sell in most larger stores /health stores http://images.google.com/images?svnu...C+&btnG=Search

Vitamin C is a great vitamin to take, especially when you are sick. It is an antioxidant.

Hi in his hands,
I was just reading your bio and saw that your teen and have RSD. I was a teen when I first got RSD I was 13. I know for me it was so hard to try to join after school activities with having RSD. It was all I could do to go to school and do my homework. It was always hard to write a lot so I use to have to break it up some after school some early evening and then before I went to bed. I did graduate from high school, but for me that a was big accomplishment. After high school I went to county college part time, but that was also very hard with the RSD. When I was 21 my RSD had spread to my legs so it was so hard to get around in college for a while I went on a cane so that helped. My mom use to help too so that was helpful also. I did finally graduate with a associate degree, but it took it eight years to finish. I am fortunate that I was able to a degree. I know everything I want in life has been hard for me,but I guess if you stick with it you can accomplish it. I hope you found this post to be helpful or interesting. Take Care Laraine |

It is quite hard having RSD as a teen... there are so many things I cannot do anymore. I am trying to find new things to do, ways to help people, and old things that I can still do. For instance, I love working with sculpey clay. I can still do that, though it is quite difficult. Also, many people don't understand. I love that I have been able to find forums (this ![]() It's scary- especially when it spreads (it has spread a few times for me)... I have RSD in my legs and arms (you know that after reading me bio)... where all is your RSD??? School is a challenge- especially when pain or medications really effect your concentration level! I get lost when I am doing things... math is so much harder than it ever was, and school is quite a job overall. When the Drs. first diagnosed you, what treatments did you start with? What was most effective/ least effective? I sent you a PM. Did you get it? Hope you don't mind all the questions. I have SO many questions, and appreciate hearing other's experiences. I always say that I am GOING to write a book someday, about RSD. I get so lost with this sometimes... no one knows all the answers!! It is a nasty disease to have for sure. Pain stinks. BTW, I LOVE your name! ![]() Hope to hear from you more soon... ![]() Last edited by InHisHands; 02-18-2007 at 11:55 AM. |

IHH,
Just to add my two cents, I was 14 when I was diagnosed - first week of high school. It is tough, but it is also possible. I'm in my last year of college now, and then it's on to grad school! You can make it and there are lots of people here cheering for you! |

Hey IHH, BB, Laraine
Had to support BB - it IS possible - I'm a fresher in uni at the moment and loving it - when I was first diagnosed (16) I never imagined I'd be able to live 4 hours from home survive!! but, 6 months or so in and I'm still here! It is hard having this as a teen - having to deal with friends, teachers, work, as well as mobility problems, PAIN and exhaustion.. but it can be done!! As teens we all know what this is like - and so we can support each other... Love ya Frxxxxxxxxx
