My neuro chiropractor came up with this therapy when I started to have trouble swallowing my food. I was vomiting and having a lot of upper GI problems. I was ready to get an upper and lower GI scan when I went to see her first. When I told her about my problems she had a different idea. She proceeded to stick a tongue depresser down my throat in an unsuccessful atempt to gag me. Upon finding out that my gag reflex was nonexistent she proceeded to keep trying until she gagged me by shoving the tongue depressor half way down my throat. She was very unhappy with the results and stated that I must gag myself 4 to 5 times a day for two weeks until I seen her again. She said that I didnt need any GI scan because my prefrontal cortex of my brain is nonexistent do to all the meds that Im on.She told me that the prefrontal cortex has many responsibilities one of which is saliva production and digestion. Along with mucus developement in my sinuses and tear production in my eyes. She explained that I needed to do anything I could to stimulate my prefrontal cortex. I decided to try this and it has worked for me. I have little to no trouble swallowing and my eyes are no longer dry and my sinuses are great. I just hope that this may help someone else who is struggling with this problem.. thanx krank

I find this interesting being that I get sick once or twice a month. Always in the morning (I'm not pregnant, had a hysterectomy) but this last go round I have been nausea's for the last 6 days. I even called the GI dr. and left a message, but no return call.
Does anyone else have issues?

Due to MS, I have a similar problem where my gag reflex is inhibited ... resulting in food, fluids and tablets going down "the wrong way". If my problems intensify, I will soon need treatment to stimulate my gag or risk pneumonia or even choking, from inhaled foreign substances.

I have been vomiting every morning for the last 4 days and 2 days last week each time is followed by a headache. Could this be rsD related?

I had bouts of unexplained nausea, usually a few times per month, for 8 or 9 years. The worst part, was that I'd have no warning. Since switching to the 4 F's diet, the problem has gone away.

I have not eaten alot recently and the things I do eat make me nausea's afterwards. Not sure but going to call the GI dr. tommorrow as well as the PCP. UGG! I hate going to dr.'s.
I have also found that cyclic vomiting can coincide with RSD and that it is not so uncommon that patients with rsd have this.

Debbiehub,
I feel nauseated the last few days after eating, especially in the morning (I had a hysterectomy so I know i'm not pregnant) I can't even hold down a cup of coffee in the am. I am now down to eating lots of mints, sprite or ginger ale (which doesn't always stay down) and usually about 2 pm. I start to come around. This past week as been horrible. Quote:

http://www.rsdrx.com/four_f%27s_diet.htm Instead of buying soda (and diet is even worse that regular, even though Hooshmand claimed it was ok) you might want to try making fresh ginger tea with lemon and raw honey to calm your stomach down. Otherwise, you're throwing your blood sugar into overdrive right off the bat. |
